Had a nice lunch here, it's a nice little no frills pub. It's becoming harder and harder to find somewhere in the lakes where you can get some decent food and a drink without getting your eyes taken out. So please don't change ?

Stayed her twice now, each time did not want to leave. Tony and James are incredibly welcoming, the food is exceptional. A huge variety of beers and spirits. Our room so brilliant I am not going to say the name in case people book it and I can't get in again, we are planning another visit soon. The staff are so laid back and professional, the hotel is immaculately clean, you relax the minute you walk in, the fixtures and fittings in the rooms are very high standard, the linen spotless. I cannot speak more highly of this Inn.Someone complained about being asked to move on, the car park is small with enough cars for the people who are booked in and a little space for pub users, people do tend to take the rip and park and walk, but you always get the odd entitled don't you?We will be back again soon.Beautiful place to stay to visit so many different destinations and walks. Can't speak more highly of the Three Shires..Rooms: Outstanding with excellent fixtures and fittings, comfiest beds ever.Nearby activities: So many different walks and information on the area.Safety: Health and safety no issues at allWalkability: Some excellent walks for all abilitiesFood & drinks: Delicious well above pub standardsNoteworthy details: Fixtures and fittings, comfort of the rooms, friendliness and professionalism of the owners and staff. Incredible views.

Nice little pub went in for a drink last Sunday seemed clean and the logburner going was a nice touch 4* as one of our group was searching his car boot and I presume it was the owner/manager came out and told him you can't park in carpark to walk not sure if there is a fell or poi near there (there is sighs to say no parking for walks) tried to explain we weren't walking but he repeated the same thing needs to remember manners cost nothing.

The Three Shires Inn and the team behind it are phenomenal. Every time we visit, the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Their rooms are beautiful and have stunning views from every window. Their chef is passionate about local produce and the food is incredible. We love it so much, we recently held our wedding reception here and every guest was blown away by their experience. The warmth and attention to detail made our wedding day perfect!I can't recommend a stay here enough. Special mention has to go to the staff who work so hard to provide a 5* service and the owners, James and Tony who have invested so much into such a beautiful Inn. They all go above and beyond.Thank you, once again for providing us and our guests memories we will cherish for years to come. We all can't wait to stay again!Rooms: Stunning views from every windowNearby activities: Plenty of beautiful walks on the doorstepFood & drinks: Local produce, reasonably priced for high quality, homemade food.Noteworthy details: The staff and owners go above and beyond to provide a 5* service.

Lovely pub in a fairly remote location in Little Langdale (although easily accessible from Ambleside or Grasmere). Excellent food - a cut above standard pub fare - and friendly service. I had an excellent cheese soufflé followed by a venison burger. Dog friendly in one of the main rooms. Efficient but friendly service. Recommended.

Such a wonderful experience! Lovely clean rooms with a really comfortable bed. Breakfast and dinner were just what you need for a day walking, hearty food with generous portions. Staff were so kind and welcoming. Note there are lots of walks to do around the hotel so it doesn?t matter if you don?t have a car either. Thanks so much - I can?t wait to come back with my family. Highly recommend!

Stayed here for the three shires race which conveniently started and ended in the field opposite. Really nice team, small business, great beers, good well presented food and comfortable room. Awesome breakfast. A great place for a couple away or a group of friends. Fantastic walking (and running!) straight from the door. Thank you!
