Great location and excellent service from all staff.Rooms: Fairly well equipped if a little tired.Food & drinks: Good range of drinks at the bar. Food was a tad expensive.Noteworthy details: No dedicated parking but not the fault of the hotel. Only chargeable street parking available close by. The nearest car park is about 3 minutes' walk away. 3 and 7 day passes are available on some car parks. A residents permit would be helpful to anyone staying in the area.

Classic Lake District pub with something for all visitors. Very nice interior and a beer garden with plenty of seating. Food looked very good but we were only visiting for a drink. Larger venue with outdoor seating. Would definitely call again!

I booked a one night stay very last minute for myself and my dog and the best part of it by far was how attentive and genuinely lovely the staff were to both of us. It?s always a slight concern bringing a dog somewhere but I can?t express how welcome we were made to feel. Especially the morning staff, not one of them walked by without saying hi to Lula (multiple times) and she was even lucky enough to get a sausage for breakfast too. They kindly upgraded us from a single to double which went down a treat after a day of hiking. It?s lovely location, the only downside is the parking as you have to use a pay and display. There are a few spaces directly outside but only after 6pm.Highly recommend it here and wouldn?t hesitate to book again

Had a great overnight stay here. Dog-friendly.Rooms: The room was nice and clean. Bigger than I was expecting. The bathroom was a little underwhelming, but usable.Food & drinks: It's the Lakes, so expect a hefty bar bill. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. I recommend the pheasant. I'd definitely order that again.

Room we stayed in was small and let alot of light in from outside and also from the corridor. But everything else made up for the short comings of the room.

Lovely place to stay but no hotel parking had to walk quite a distance to park. Also be careful when settling up on your bill mysteriously there was an added £17.00 charge for something they couldn't say what it was so we didn't pay the extra. All a very enjoyable stay up to that point.

Fantastic place, been going to the pub here for years on holidays to Ambleside but it's the first time staying in the hotel.Central location ,cannot fault it. Speedy check in for 4 nights and room ready to go on arrival. Room was warm and comfortable with the BEST bed. Missed the breakfast every morning due to sleeping sooooooo well. All staff were top notch and always nice and friendly. Sorry to checkout ?. Would recommend to friends and family and will most definitely be back again soon ??. Keep up the fantastic work.
