Absolutely brilliant

Only went in the coffee shop but it was very small and had no atmosphere, I tried to have a laugh with the staff but nothing. Also the wife said her cappuccino just tasted like milk. So if you are desperate for a sit down..great but if you are looking for a lovely place to sit and relax then go somewhere else.

Everywhere you visit in the lakes is just beautiful and here is no different and you will not be disappointed! I would recommend visiting rydal mount where William wordsworth lived and the gardens which are just stunningly beautiful. Lots of little nooks and colours and scenery to explore. After rydal mount and gardens I'd absolutely recommend taking the next part of your wander down to rydal hall and it's grounds...the falls are breathtaking. You can explore the woods and then enter the grounds through the gate by the tea room to explore even more hidden gems like the Grot and Waterfall. Tearoom and toilets available at both rydal mount and rydal hall. Parking at rydal mount is free only with admissions paid to rydal mount. For this parking, Drive past Rydal hall up to the top of the hill and you will see the parking for rydal mount. You can leave the car there once you have explored the house and gardens and want to explore rydal hall. Enjoy ?

We visited Rydal Mount and Gardens whilst on a break in the Lake District. It is the family home of Wordsworth. Lovely gardens and I learnt a lot about Wordsworth from the information in the house. It transports you back in time. There is also a cafe which is quite small but there's some nice outdoor seating and the woman serving was lovely.

A lovely visit to the house and gardens today. The tour guide for the house was very knowledgeable and gave a lovely relaxed tour. It was nice to be allowed to roam freely around the house ourselves afterwards to look at the paintings and artefacts. The garden was well looked after and interesting to explore via the main paths, staircases, or steps. A view of the lake can be seen from both lawns, which must have been even more lovely as the surrounding trees were first growing. It was a really pleasant afternoon visit with a good cafe for refreshments.

The last home of William Wordsworth - what more can I say? It was a gloomy day close to the Spring Equinox, and it drizzled. But we loved it. Little waterfalls, tons of super green moss, brooks, hills, a sculpture trail, and a very lovely café with the best chocolate cake ever. We'll be back mid or late spring, so we can witness this beautiful place on it's green dress.

Loved this place. Just toured the gardens but well worth it. Amazing view and friendly cat. Couldn't afford the cost of Wordsworths museum so doing this gave us a sense of a little of his life. Really recommend.

A brilliant visit to Rydal Mount. The displays and collection are excellent and the guided tour was great. Leo is incredibly knowledgeable and it was so interesting to stand in a house that once hosted so many literary greats. Definitely recommend a visit here.

Wonderful place to visit. Tour guide gave us a nice presentation and then let us explore the manor. The gardens were nice, though the steps can be a little tricky deeper in. Pretty views.
