As a timeshare owner's guest regularly since 1989 and as a timeshare owner myself for 10+ years, this is a little piece of heaven on earth. A few years ago the public areas of the hotel and lodges were starting to look a little tired. But the refurbishment of both has been spectacular and brought back the feeling of luxury and calm. For me, the lodges feel like home and holiday at the same time. I doubt you could stay anywhere better in the Lake District.

Disappointing !
Expecting a higher end experience which never arrived.
Arrival. The estate is confusing and set up is alike to centre parc. Parking is limited and tight in certain areas.
Room. Don?t get on the ground floors. Although bigger than travelodge rooms the experience is similar. Noisy , creaky floors. A lot of door banging. Just not comfortable.
Breakfast. Book a table was recommended. No need just rock up and hope there?s one available.
Plates not available and staff not forward facing. Complaining about appliances not fit for purpose. Example being they couldn?t fry an egg. So we didn?t get one.
This hotel is selling itself on the spa which is overpriced. It?s at the expense of basics and luxury experience.
Glad we had a car. Allowed us to drive to local villages and town to enjoy our break.

We stayed in a basic room so only 3 stars but there are much nicer rooms available but of course you pay more.
Breakfast was very good in a nice setting outside as was a beautiful morning.
Water wheel is very impressive.
I'd say it's worth a stay there. Lakes are fantastic!

Visited with the wife for a getaway. The hotel room was really nice, the spa was amazing with the log fires creating an amazing atmosphere. We ate in the onsite restaurant and it was really good. The hotel and spa are not cheap but worth the splurge for the experience and setting

Disappointing Experience Despite High Expectations
I had dinner at The Stove Restaurant and Bar, and unfortunately, the evening fell well below expectations. The booking process started off promisingly with friendly customer service when entering the restaurant to book a table, and we managed to secure a table for 20:45, knowing the kitchen closed at 21:30.
We arrived early and decided to enjoy cocktails at the bar beforehand. However, we sat for around 20 minutes without even an acknowledgment from staff before being served. When our cocktails finally arrived, we were shown to our table ? but no water was offered, the menu wasn?t explained, and when we asked about specials, our waitress didn?t know.
When my partner tried to order a starter, the waitress came back three separate times to inform us each dish we picked was unavailable. Once we eventually placed our order, the food arrived quickly. Unfortunately, the chicken and waffle starter was extremely greasy and lacked flavour. A new staff member ? who was very polite and eager to help ? did his best to assist and provided extra olive oil for our roasted pepper snack, which we appreciated.
For mains, the sides were cold. At that point, I was so disappointed that I didn?t even feel it was worth raising the issue and just wanted to finish the meal and leave.
I understand we had a later booking towards the end of service, but given the premium cost of the accommodation and the reputation of the resort, the service and food quality were far below what should be offered. Sadly, this experience has left me reluctant to return.

Place is a rip off and I would not recommend to anyone. Lots of hidden extras and CGI photos to make everything look more luxury than what it is.
Spa is £85 extra per person (no - this doesn't include any treatments) and this is on top of steep prices per night for dated rooms. If you want just a pool, please note you have free access in the leisure centre, just be prepared to share this with the local community but very crowded during the holidays so essentially not usable.
We were staying in a room with poor natural light which felt like we were in a basement (it's on the ground floor and half of the view is a wall! It's also a pathway so you can't leave the blinds open much for privacy. This picture really doesn't give the poor light justice), I'd love to know who thought this was an acceptable room to offer anyone, or even someone on such a special milestone. To get something with even a view of a car park it's £10 extra (yes we ended up upgrading for better natural light at least). For even my 30th they wanted an extra £18 for chocolates - not even a small treat they'd give which is pretty standard in places charging this price per night. Worst experience I'm still having to endure and I feel horrible for my partner who drove so far thinking the experience would've been the best we've experienced in 10 years together. I won't break his heart - but instead write this review to warn others - lower your expectations and come with disposable income you can afford to lose and you'll be ok.
Highlights - breakfast was nice, and dinner waiter Catyln (I believe her name resembled) also very nice.

We came as part of a group tour, overall enjoyed the stay. Our part of the lodge was quiet, I know some others in our group has so noisey neighbors. The staff were always nice at the restaurant, we had some great meals there. We liked their breakfast buffet. Room was comfortable, we appreciated the fan provided since it was extra warm during our stay.

The staff are very rude! You have to pay extra to use the spa! Very expensive for what it is!The swimming pool is very old! The only thing that's nice is the area.

Would give 5 star if rooms had air conditioning, apart from that - lovely. Hope to visit again!

It?s rare to say a hotel stay gets everything right, but that?s what I?m saying about Langdale Hotel & Spa. Every detail was perfect and we had a fabulous stay. The spa was great, I think the masseuse was called Bryce. Super relaxing treatment. Food is great and the setting is simply sensational

Been wanting to visit for some time. On arrival the receptionist was welcoming. The room was clean looked nice but seemed a little dated.
The leisure facilities were good although noticed that in parts lacked some attention. Peeling paint and worn areas.
The staff at the leisure facilities were a little stand offish.
We wanted to book a table for dinner on the first night but no one picked up the phone. We called reception and was told just to walk over? This was hardly professional customer service. The room brochure clearly advises to call. When we got to the restaurant they advised we dont need to book for the bar? Very confusing. The young lady wasnt very welcoming.
Our room also turned out to be disappointing. The room upstairs was noisy and kept us awake. The floor helped transfer every sound going and creaked.
Our bathroom was a walk in wet room which had no screen around the shower. This left the floor soaking for hours and hours. Hardly helpful. Need to use the toilet in the night your feet got soaked. In the end we had to use towels which made the whole experience a pain, hardly a luxury feel for a weekend away. It felt like work for us when we wanted a hassle free break.
The food in the main restaurant tasted very nice however the menu is very limited, and the portions were small. It was also an opportunity for staff to give a sales pitch for upgrades to your order. This is not what guest want. Its not Spain and Time Share. Our wine took 15-20 mins to come and we were already eating our meal.
The same was said for breakfast when our poached eggs took over 15mins and we had pretty much ended our food. There was no apology. The breakfast is however a great selection but the sausages and bacon were very over cooked.
When it came to check out i handed the key cards back to a young lady at reception who said thanks and walked off. I wasnt asked if i had a nice stay or even a thank you for staying there!
Despite the hotel being in a nice place and it being quite pretty I believe the hotel lacks professionalism from staff. Its supposed to be an upmarket hotel? I think they have a lot to work on and change to make the service, food and general feel of the stay to be truly upmarket or special. We enjoyed our stay but I doubt we would return or recommend The Langdale.

Very disappointed with the afternoon tea . Evening meal was not that better. Mushroom pizza was not nice My advice would be go elsewhere for food. I had to say that the breakfast made up for the other two meals. Wide range of everything hot and cold .

We?ve just returned from Langdale and had a truly memorable stay. The setting is beautiful, peaceful, surrounded by nature and with direct access to some incredible hikes. My wife and I did a 6-hour route covering Bowfell, Stickle Tarn, and Side Pike, which was a real highlight.
We stayed in the Ultimate Room, which was spacious, beautifully designed and came with a jacuzzi bath that felt amazing after a long day outdoors. The only downside was the heat, both during the day and especially at night. Even with the windows open and a fan running, the room stayed uncomfortably warm and made it hard to sleep.
A huge thank you to Ashley at reception. He was genuinely warm, friendly and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. When we mentioned it was both our birthdays, he kindly upgraded our room, which made our stay feel even more special. His kindness and professionalism really stood out.
The next day, we spent time at the spa and had a sea salt scrub and massage, just what we needed to unwind after a day of hiking.
Despite the warm room, we had a fantastic time and would definitely return. Perhaps in winter next time, with snow as a bonus!

Been coming here since I was 2 weeks old and now at 25 I am still loving it! It is calm and peaceful, a great retreat. It's a great location, highly recommend walking to Elter Water, is it a gentle walk for a fantastic view
