Nice location but be careful if you have allergies, I asked for coffee with coconut milk and got cows milk, not good at all, they swapped it for me but only after I had taken a drink from the coffee which isn?t good for me, so as far as recommending this coffe shop I just have to say be careful when ordering and double check your order.

Lovely cafe! Staff can?t do enough for you!I had a full breakfast, about £12/13. Lots of options for food and drink, perfect stop after a long rainy walk!

Be careful people, they only display takeaway prices you need to check the menus on tables for sit in prices! And in my opinion quite expensive considering? I?d expect to pay those prices in London. If you go for a takeaway, bring your own cup as they charge you £1.25 extra for a takeaway cup. Even though I think expensive, works out cheaper to sit in if you haven?t got your own cup

Visited early morning and the whole running of the place is bazaar. Laurel and Hardy style with customers using a toilet that you have to unlock the door.using a key on a chain that is hanging on a 3ft plank of wood which you then take into the toilet with you. The cafe seating area is filthy dirty with food on the floor and seating that is unclean. Sorry but never to return to this place

Stopped for coffee and cake only. Friendly/quick service, tables were clean, background music pleasant (jazz) and it wasn't too busy (weekday lunchtime). We loved the water dispenser by the entrance. There were small glasses available and we could help ourselves to free citrus flavoured chilled water (there were slices of orange, lemon and lime in the dispenser). It was really nice as we had just finished a walk, but hadn't taken any water with us so were pretty thirsty!

Perfect pit-stop for before/after a hike.

I had a salted caramel brownie and freshly pressed apple juice, both were great but honestly expensive, but as a tourist town I get it. The service I got was friendly, although I wished that the owners of loudly barking dogs would have considered other customers more.

Don't know what beans they use, but the coffee is top notch!

We're regular visitors to the lakes and have visited Esquires quite a few times. Called in for breakfast on 12th January and I had the best bacon bun I've had hence my finally posting a review. Lots of really good quality bacon cooked as I'd asked, crispy without being cremated! Well done the chef! My husband had eggs benedict which he really enjoyed but he had a bit of bacon butty envy!

Visited here twice over the weekend, and had a great experience both times. After wandering around Ambleside I popped in for a Chai Latte - which was delicious. Then I visited the next day with my son: where he was defeated by the enormous Sausage Bap! We both really enjoyed our Caramel Macchiatos too.On both occasions I was warmly welcomed, and felt all the staff I encountered were very friendly. Service was quick, and I thoroughly enjoyed both of the drinks I had. My son was very impressed with the quality, and amount of sausages that were in his bap.So although you might pay a little bit more than other establishments, I feel the price is justified.
