This is a shop I have visited a few times and have purchased items before. I left today very happy with the really helpful service. They have some truly lovely and luxury items many of which are on my shopping list.

Bought a Herdwick rug instore, excellent quality and reasonably priced after reviewing the web. I was advised instore that although they have a website they no longer do e-commerce!!

Having visited the shop whilst on staycation in Sept-Oct, ordered a quad Merino rug online @ £255. Received immediate automatically generated email confirmations of payment from Sage, and of the order itself from Ambleside Sheepskins....heard nothing further. Tried the 'Contact Us' on the website - bounced back every time. Tried the phone number on the website - recorded message saying voicemail box was full every time. Tried the email address given on the website - no response. Wrote a letter explaining my concerns and asking when I could expect delivery, and sent it 1st class signed for. Letter duly delivered next morning and signed for by Rick Clark Managing Director. No response. Have been advised to send my log of events plus all printouts, screenshots etc to Trading Standards, and head to Small Claims court to recover my money. I will do just that.

I'm struggling with the same problem as Chris Bruce. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ONLINE FROM THIS STORE. They take the money, acknowledge the order and that's' the last you'll hear from them! They don't answer the phone or respond to emails. I'm going to the lakes this summer and am already looking forward to visiting the shop for my refund and an interesting conversation!Rick - manager of the shop if you find yourself reading this review please get in touch!"

Husband bought me a sheepskin coat and it feels wonderful to wear. I have had numerous comments about how beautiful at looked. The gentleman who served me was very helpful and informative. The rugs are amazing so Ambleside Sheepskins will definitely be getting more visits from me in the future.

Very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Large range of, yes I know - sheepskins, but also reindeer skins.Spoilt for choice, we eventually settled for a Merino quad skin. Would have preferred Herdwick, but the Merino is cheaper.

Have been coming to this shop for a couple of years, the tiny Teddy bear sheep attracted us and the warm friendly greetings from all staff have meant we visit each time we come to Ambleside. Today purchased a gorgeous rug, no sales pressure from the staff, simple product knowledge and enthusiasm. Can highly recommend a visit to the shop.
