A lovely pub with lots of charm. The staff are extremely friendly, polite and a good laugh. They got us in short notice for the best carvery we've had. The selection was excellent all perfectly cooked. The range of the vegetables was just right and the extras were spot on. The Maltsters arms was a recommendation so I'm hoping to pass on the favor to someone else. Best to book as it's easy to see why this place is so busy. Can't wait to go back. Thank you ???????

Food looked great plated up although we only dropped in for a beer. The menu had some interesting items on it. There was Whole Lemon Sole on as a Special on the Chalkboard.

What a pub ? Staff were very accommodating, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. During our stay in Chapel Amble we went in EVERY day. Each visit we were made to feel welcome by all the staff and locals alike. Even Mooseman our Jack Russell (who is quite vocal when it comes to other dogs) was welcomed each time, with dog treats from the bar and was renamed 'Angry dog' We had dinner on the Tuesday, which was fabulous (all credit to the "dancing" chef ?) My husband and Dad had the belly of pork and I had the ham egg and chips. Everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were generous. So much so that 'angry dog' had ham for his breakfast the next morning. Perfect place to unwind in front of the fire after a busy day of exploring. An absolute gem. We were last down in Chapel Amble Sept 22, the pub was shut. It has now been open for nearly a year and it is brilliant. The food is excellent, the Sunday carvery is superb and the menu during the rest of the week is even better. Make sure you are hungry the portions are epic. Lots of choice behind the bar with a good wine selection as very well kept beers and lagers. There is a curry and quiz night on a Wednesday, it?s fun and not taken too seriously plus it?s for charity. Make sure you pay it a visit, we will be back. Thanks to Kerry, Pip, Jez, the Lillies and the other staff for looking after us. And not forgetting Chris the chef for his excellent food and speciality biscuits.

Enjoyed a lovely evening at The Maltesers. Welcoming hospitality, excellent food & atmosphere. I was surprised to find that my cheeseburger was a double burger, (handmade), very tasty, served with slaw & fries. Other half had ham, local eggs & chips. He loved the ham, reminded him of Xmas. Took it slow and savoured the taste. Had a chat with the manager about the ham, was told how it was cooked . The portions were generous. I love to see what others are having... the steak, chips, roasted vine tomatoes & onion rings looked fab as did the moules mariner, the lamb shank... Thoroughly enjoyed our meals and sad that we didn't find this gem earlier. Might be an idea to book so not disappointed

Been coming to Cornwall for over 15 years and found this little gem by mere coincidence Booking was advisable( always a good sign) The young lady I spoke to turned out to be Poppy a delightful and friendly young lady We were welcomed as if we were regulars, the menu was quite short also a good sign,Marianne had the hake with seafood chowder I had hand cut sirloin steak and both were quite delicious We were served by Poppy and Lily who were an absolute joy as was the front of house manager a gregarious and wonderful host, unfortunately we cannot make time for another visit this year ,but it will be our go to place in June and September 2024 when we come back to Cornwall

We didn't know that it was a carvery on booking, but that didn't matter to us. When we arrived the owner was so welcoming and friendly. This is a dog friendly pub and all the staff were very fussy over all the dogs. We had the medium carvery and this was plenty, we saw the neighbouring tables large one and that was a mountain of food! The food was delicious, great meats, lovely cauliflower and broccoli cheese and great tasting home made gravy. It was worth the 30 mile drive for dinner. All staff were polite and welcoming. We hadn't visited since 2019 and understand it's under new management. Keep up the good work everything was fabulous.

Four of us (plus our lovely dog) arrived at the pub for an evening meal about 1815. The staff were very helpful and friendly and gave us a table straight away. Drinks were served quickly and we ordered our food not knowing what to expect. All four of us were absolutely delighted with our choices of the belly pork, baked plaice and pasta dish. The quality of the ingredients and the obvious care and attention taken with the food was outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful ding experience. We will return if we are ever in the area again!

We have visited The Maltsters twice in last 10 days, for carvery and for curry and quiz night. Both times we have been welcomed by very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. The meals we had were delicious and plentiful. Best carvery we?ve had for a long time, definitely one for a meat eater-5 choices of meat and you can have them all!! The quiz night was fun also. I wish this pub was our local as we would spend a lot of time there. Go and visit, you won?t be disappointed. Set in a pretty village it?s lovely to sit outside if weather ok.

My family and I visited for the Sunday carvery from a local recommendation and it is safe to say we weren?t disappointed. They catered very well for gluten intolerance and veggies, I didn?t feel like I was missing out at all. The food was well cooked, the meat choices were huge, varied and great quality (and we were allowed a very fair amount). Not only that, but the man who served us (unsure of name) was so friendly, helpful and just made it such an easygoing and perfect dinner. The chef came out towards the end and you could see how much it meant to her too. We had a few comments at the table that this was the best pub roast we?ve had, and I definitely echo those comments. We will be back next year for sure! Thanks again guys!
