Couldn't go into the house. Gardens are pretty but doesn't take long to walk round. There is a concession for disabled where carers go free, however this isn't shown on the website - so don't book tickets in advance! They also don't seem very aware on the rules of assistance dogs.Maybe we just went the wrong time of the year in September. The lovely tea room however serves great cream teas and some delicious homemade soup.

Had to give one star as was not possible to give none at all. A very disappointing garden. Probably 50 years ago it may have been fine but now is an overgrown jungle.

Lunch is only served 12-2pm, looked up online first and nowhere specified lunch serving time. Was a little disappointed as turned up at 2:20pm and no cream teas (ran out). We previously visited the past 2 years and love the tea room as it's superb food. Update few days later returned for lunch and was amazing food as always and savoury cream tea is just heaven! Recommend highly for amazing tea room and cream teas, just make sure if you want lunch you arrive before 2pm.

Mom and sisters brought tickets. 1:30pm lady at the ticket counter said there was no soup or quiche, however cream teas and cakes were available. They went to the cafe and waited 10 mins whilst the servers walked past. Ignored by the man and lady making drinks, after 5 mins a young lady acknowledged my sister's and mom and said there is no food available. So went to see the gardens. The family behind also acknowledged it was ridiculous to have no food for a lunch@ 1:30pm friday 15th September.Well done for a rubbish place for lunch. Gardens has poor signage And no maps available. Dont waste your time coming here

Helaas hadden we regen regen regen, het is prachtig maar meer groen dan bloemen. Uiteraard wel hydrangea's en wat andere bloeiers. Maar voor Nederlanders echt te weinig variatie.

Super day, beautiful gardens

Trewithen is lovely sprawling gardens set in a huge country estate. They are beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean. We spent the day there and thoroughly enjoyed it. All the staff were lovely too, and a credit to the gardens and Cornwall in general.Restrooms: TREWITHEN Gardens were an absolute delight to visit. Situated between St Austell and Truro on thd A390, they kept offering more as we strolled through the extensive grounds with our Cockapoo who had a good sniff at everything! The silent garden was beautiful, serene and peaceful with luxurious and carefully planned shrubs and trees to add to the central walk lined with lavender. The rest of the stroll was equally impressive with the water garden much enjoyed especially the buddleia which had a huge variety of butterflies playing joyfully in its leaves and flowers. Probably why it's called the butterfly bush! The tearooms were also lovely with a simple yet delicious choice of fare, all freshly made. My wife enjoyed the Greek salad and l was very happy with the flat bread, houmus and olives. The young barrista there was great, her lovely smile was matched by her deep knowledge of all things coffee and helped to make the whole experience a joy.It was fo good, we then had a 2nd walk around the grounds before a cuppa and a piece if cake, well - we'd earned it .......Will we go back YES and we'll be getting a season ticket next season (March to Sep, l think we week told).Oh yes, and a shout out to Lawrence the wood Turner who produced some lovely artistic pieces on the lathe using wood from all over the globe. And his knowledge was pretty impressive too.Well done all.A good day out in Cornwall THANK YOU.Dog-friendliness: Very relaxed atmosphere and with so much to explore, we hardly saw any other dogs. Those we did see were very well behaved.Picnic area: Plenty of picnic opportunities all over the estate, we opted for the Cafe and weren't disappointed. When we come regularly next year, we'll bring a picnic occasionally.
