The 2 year guarantee is worthless! Bought a Google pixel 7 A. The screen failed approx 2 months after we bought it and they refused to fix or replace it. The reason they gave was a mixture of 'that's a common fault with that model' and 'you must have dropped it so its not covered by our warranty'. We had not dropped it, and there were no cracks or scratches either. Apparently we had to prove we had not dropped it!

Absolutely disgusted with CEX took in our perfect PC and it was checked by staff behind the counter so they could see the screen was perfect was asked to leave it, went back they said even though we had factory reset it we would have to take it home and make sure it was on the English page!! Took it home put it on the screen they asked for took it back again it was checked over no damage found left it with them again they checked it over abd we were told the screen was damaged and scratched! I told them it must have been done in store and they were having none of it I've left it there, certainly a case fir criminal damage and sharp practice I've contacted CEO of the company CEX customer services provided photos of before and still they call me a liar I am absolutely disgusted at this service, as they don't want to help me in any way looking to take them to the small claims court and the police someone has to make a stand.

The wife Bought a Steamdeck for almost £500 as a gift for me for holidays and upcoming operation no noticed of the day it was being delivered no notice that it had been delivered postman had faked the signature wife came home to a soaked box and a perfectly straight line at the top of the steamdeck which was actually a crack checked it worked and downloaded the games and then put it away safe untill easter holiday gone to use it for the second time only and got black screen of death and non responsive steamdeck due to a bios issue took it in to be messed around by customer services for 2 weeks via email to be told it was sent in perfect condition it doesn't matter if it gets damaged in transit if you cannot return it in the same state it was sent the warranty is void so no repair no replacement no refund and because it's over 80 days can't claim against royal mail so we now have an almost £500 paperweight Avoid buying from CEX online if your gonna buy something go into the store and ask them to show you it works or you will get scammed like my wife did

I have brought my xbox 360 and Accessories in truro cex and just came to collect it and it was broken and disc drive does not open now and it got a failure but was working when I went in but I got the blame of damage so not happy at all ......... so please check your stuff or take a pic before you go in as scammers.

Sorry buddy but no you do not 100% do checks, as I used the xbox just before I took in so I know was working then here's something I'll add also I didn't realise cex Rob the plug and play cable and WiFi dongle ....I've now been in and got them back but there was no sorry for what they TRYED to take ... so not just took piss breaking the xbox by dropping it or banging it as now I got a no working xbox and Was robbed but now replaced back so if I could give less then a star I would ..........definitely a bad store it's not even the price its the principle .............
