My wife and I had a very positive experience with dealing with Jo, who helped us with the process of merging our separate bank accounts into a joint one. The process was very clear and she made sure that we filled in the forms correctly. Most polite and helpful.

I like the building its old and stately in appearance. The staff are nice too and Natalie with the pretty nails gave us good advice on how to manage the account.

As a Natwest business customer who's business generates large amounts of loose coinage I was delighted to find that the St Austell, Cornwall branch had invested in a coin counting machine which actually offset the inconvenience caused by the recent closures of three of my more local branches of Natwest (necessitating a 35 miles drive). I had been depositing loose coinage to this branch for the past 4 months but to my surprise I was advised yesterday that I was no longer welcome to use the coin counting machine at the branch and that if I returned I would be refused access and turned away! I was advised by the branch manager and her assistants that because I was paying in so much loose coinage it may fill the machine and force them to arrange for it to be emptied early by G4S (I was advised that G4S the machine emptying company, only sent one man to empty the machine which made it a difficult task for him).
Having been made to feel embarrassed by the scene created by the branch manager and her assistants in full view of the other customers for a considerable time the manager finally relented and agreed to allow me to pay in half of the coinage I had but was made to take the other half away with me.
Having used Natwest for my business banking for over 40 years I have been left extremely disappointed and let down by the branch manager, from the way in which she dealt with a simple deposit process to being advised that I was no longer welcome at the branch to use the coin counting service.
When a bank refuses to allow you to deposit money is there any point in them being there?
