We went for the festive afternoon tea and it was beautiful. So nice to have a variety of different savouries instead of the standard boring sandwiches.
We were greated at the door. The building was nicely decorated and tasteful art. Woodburners were going, nice lighting all made for a soothing comfortable atmosphere. The afternoon tea was great. The savouries were butternut squash with blue cheese quiche, pea and mint puree on rye bread, ginger and apricot sausage roll and a beautiful turkey and potato fried ball on cranberry. Lovely, lovely flavours and quality. Highly recommend the festive afternoon tea if your looking for something special locally

Truly lovely stay , amazing hosts. Location is perfect and close to the Eden Project. Love the cookies on the door in the morning. Small menu for dining but very good food. It was out first stay away with having a stoma, they were so understanding and were able to accommodate my issues with food. Would highly recommend ?

Great hotel, had the best stay! Loved the little touches like fresh cookies on arrival and waking up each morning to fresh muffins hanging on the door.
Breakfast was delicious.
Staff were so helpful. Gave great directions to The Eden Project.

Our 3rd stay here. Other reviews say it all? stunning property, beautiful rooms, charismatic interior with refinement inside and out. Also had great pool room with other quirky games, the bar area, a fab indoor heated pool amongst other things
Breakfast clearly had top quality ingredients and was plentiful
The owners were superb. They were a Wikipedia of local knowledge and were often heard giving tips and guides to guests.
Clean( very), friendly, accommodating and simply a beautiful and special place to stay

Stupendously amazing! I had high hopes for Boscundle Manor just from looking on here and their website but even then it didn't prepare me for the reality. Photo's just can't do it justice, it's truly beautiful.
The staff are completely dedicated to making sure every guest is happy and well looked after, for instance the cookies waiting for you when you first get to your room, pre breakfast muffins waiting for you when you wake up each day, such simple ideas but ingenious and gorgeous!
Meals in the library are something else, you really feel like you're having a very special meal, it's a very intimate setting and so relaxed, you can't help but enjoy it. There is no rush at all and you're encouraged to relax before your dinner, we loved that the staff call you in just before your meal is ready to serve, makes sense for everyone.
I saw some reviews mentioning the timing system for meals. We loved it! You have lots of notice that this is how breakfast and dinner works and on arrival the staff work out the timings with you, so for us we loved it. Instead of the rush you get at most hotels for any kind of food Boscundle's system means it's a very special, personal service not a rushed cattle market, if you like being part of a breakfast production line then Boscundle won't be for you.
The pool is fantastic, the water is quite cool but given its hot outside that was brilliant and you soon get used to it, it certainly didn't put us off! It's a constant 4ft 6in throughout so no surprise drops in depth.
The grounds are lovely and so many little places to sit and relax but for us the inside is the gem.
The inside is such a mix of new and old in everything and it works so amazingly well!
Clearly there will be bits that aren't perfect but it's an old building so what do you expect!? A good example is the bathroom photo, new modern looking freestanding bath taps next to a much older style basin and taps, it just works!
Now onto the staff, they are just amazing and this is clearly why Boscundle does so well. Everybody is completely committed to making sure every guest is always happy and their local knowledge is second to none. If ever you're unsure what to do during your stay or where to go just ask and they will give you honest suggestions tailored to what you wish to do.
To summarise go for it, it's a beautiful relaxing place with beautiful food and the most lovely dedicated staff.
Our only regret? We couldn't stay longer.....!
Rooms: The rooms are incredible and hard to do justice in photo's but I've tried. The photo through the palm tree is taken from the coffee table outside on the terrace for the Elizabeth room.
When you see 'cosy' don't think that means it's a small room. At Bodcundle cosy means romantic, peaceful, restful certainly not small. For instance oir room was the Elizabeth Cosy room, it had an emporer sized bed with tons of room around it, large ensuite with freestanding bath and large seperate rain shower and it's own terrace, that's not small!
Nearby activities: Carlyon beach is a shortish walk away, Charlestown a longer walk away on the South West coast path. St Austell, Fowey, Charlestown and more all quickly and easily accessible by car. Add to that the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are close-by rest assured you will never be bored!
Walkability: The grounds are lovely to wander around and there are also lots of places within walking distance including the Eden Project and Carlyon beach. We never used our car once during the whole stay.
Food and drinks: Beautiful! The food is gorgeous and well presented. Pre breakfast muffins waiting for you when you wake up, lots of gorgeous options for breakfast and with lovely twists to them

Lovely accomodation in a fantastic location, close to plenty of sights to see in cornwall, while being tucked away nicely in a quite spot in st austell.
The hosts were the best we have ever had, with great advice to help us with not only a great stay, but a great holiday overall. On top of this they are really nice people who we got along with fantastically.
There are lots of little touches that set this place apart from many other accomodation we have stayed in which make the place ever so welcoming.
We would highly recomend staying here as a couple and would certainly visit again.
Thanks very much for the memories!
Rooms: Excellent rooms, very clean ans comfortable. Bathrooms were modern while the room itself kept the manor house feel.
Nearby activities: In the heart of cornwall, never to far away from anything.

Absolutely stunning atmosphere whether there?s sun shining or not. The interior is just as beautiful as the exterior. The staff and hosts are so kind and well mannered. It has such a homely feel to it and I would recommend to everyone ! Definitely a hot spot for sure!

Outstanding on every level. On arrival we were made to feel so so welcome by the reception staff. The manor itself is set in the most stunning surroundings! There was not 1 thing out of place! The decor the furnishings - EVERYTHING 1st class! Our suit reminded us of a little apartment in Italy! It had its own courtyard with a table and chairs outside (via the French doors) I kept looking around saying ?wow? at every detail!! The bed was HUGE IN the ?Elizabeth? suite! It felt like you were sleeping on a cloud! The bedding and pillows were the best we have ever ever had in any kind of hotel from all around the world! There was a little fridge in the room with ice cold fresh water and a tiny flask of milk! You had your own easy to use coffee machine (Nespresso) and plenty of tea! The little touches were amazing! Freshly baked cookies!
The bath was the biggest bath I?ve ever had! Again the attention to detail was outstanding! I?m not going to insult this review by talking about how clean the suit was? OUTSTANDING EVERYWHERE! The cleaning staff work so hard! We enjoyed a swim before our evening meal! This morning we had fresh muffins hung on the suit door! We had the full English breakfast - again ?outstanding? (are you seeing my point now) we cannot fault anything at all! Cooked to perfection! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. You will not find one fault with your stay!! ? we also booked for a Spa treatment with Emma. Honestly the BEST back, shoulder massage I?ve ever had. I walked outside like I was floating! You will not be disappointed when you stay!!! Obviously we?re coming again ! We stayed in the Elizabeth Suite

Boscundle generously donated an overnight stay with breakfast to a charity auction. We won the winning bid and loved our stayed here.We had fresh, homemade, warm cookies waiting for us on arrival. The room was lovely. Sadly we didn?t have time to experience an evening meal as we were out in nearby Charlestown but the breakfast was amazing. As we?re the fresh homemade muffins left for us to take. The staff were extremely friendly, warm and welcoming. We will definately we back.
