We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was wonderful, and the disabled bathroom was perfect for my husbands needs. The staff are friendly and helpul, and the owners make you feel at home. The breakfast is everything you would hope for. They really do have a great chef. It is a quite, secluded location and central to all the attractions in Cornwall. Visiting from New Zealand.

Just had a two night stay here and it?s absolutely beautiful. Such a hidden gem. It?s lovely and clean, looks stunning and the breakfast is delicious! Friendly service and very reasonably priced. Will 100% return.

Wow wow wow. A beautiful Georgian Manor, now a hotel. Its got stunning gardens, ideal for weddings and the rooms are beautiful. All furnished very tastefully to high quality . We have just finished a sumptuous breakfast and we are now relaxing by the solar heated pool surrounded by the scent of roses. It's so nice we have decided to exten our stay and continue to enjoy the Cornish gem.

A fabulous venue if staying in Cornwall. Great location near St Agnes, with modern decor, good furnishings and wonderful breakfast. Offers a good base for motorcycle touring groups and Paul and his wife are most welcoming hosts. Safe parking too.

We spent a couple nights in Rose in Vale during our Cornwall trip.
Booked almost blindly, so were absolutely delighted to find such a wonderful place.
It's a lovely and tranquil country hotel with comfotable rooms, a great breakfast and a very nice and helpful team.
Thanks for the great stay!
Food and drinks: Breakfast was quite big and good, with both buffet and individually cooked options available.

Spent two nights here to extend a holiday in Cornwall. The room was spacious with a decent en-suite bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful. The location is in a part of Cornwall we have visited before, and much like, and the hotel is well placed for exploring the area. Whilst dining in was not available, there is a very good pub within walking distance.

We had a wonderful holiday at this lovely hotel in a quiet peaceful setting, close to the coast at St Agnes. Excellent base for exploring this area of Cornwall Staff very friendly and helpful, breakfasts were excellent and rooms and all public areas immaculate and decorated to a high standard. We highly recommend this hotel .

This is a clean & comfortable hotel with friendly staff who were lovely but I'm not sure what qualifies it to be 4 star.
The attention to detail was missing with average provisions & muddled decor
& 6 types of different light fittings in different styles in the restaurant (downlighters, wall lights, pendant lights, Moroccon lanterns & some strange fittings giving off red or blue light).
The windows flooded the room with natural light so we didn't see the need for so much artificial light.
If you want clean & friendly deep in the heart of the Cornish countryside for a peaceful nights sleep, the Rose in Vale can deliver but somewhat over priced.
Rooms: Bedding was synthetic quilt & pillows & a commercial brand of toiletries in a dated bathroom & faux leather tub chairs.
Velvet or brocade would be more luxurious at this price point, along with feather or wool bedding & some nice local or natural toiletry products.
Food & drinks: Breakfast was average with bite sized pastries, under cooked bacon & cheap sausages. The jam would have been nicer if it was homemade without creating lots of glass jars that then need recycling.
Locally produced butter, jam, baked goods & meat, with homemade granola & jam would lift the breakfast & set you up for the day.
Noteworthy details: Swimming pool area could do with a good jet wash & the gardening was a bit unkempt.

This place was just what we needed. A place to rest, relax and regroup. The people who worked there were friendly and so helpful. The front desk had great ideas for day hikes and other local places to visit. You could also just enjoy the beautiful grounds. Thank

Very pleasant, country hotel with comfortable rooms and very friendly hospitality. Restaurant with excessive portions. The liver pâté is very good, it is better to ignore the other courses

Beautiful tranquil location where the only sounds at night were some owls. Food was good with some great special dishes both traditional and from abroad. A very quiet and relaxing place to be.

Visited again the same week as last year. Upgraded to a beautiful room overlooking the pool. Thanks very much! It was spotlessly clean. The large sleigh bed has a mattress that is like sleeping on clouds. Tea and coffee facilities in the room, ask for more if you drink it all( I do like a cuppa). The breakfast is delicious, you can have a traditional english breakfast with good quality produce. The scrambled egg this morning was gorgeous. There is also a variety of choices to eat. The bar is available. Just ask staff, and sit in the beautiful semi rural garden with your G&T or the lounge in the usual British weather. The you in peace. If you want something or you have a question, they will help. If you have the need to question something, then do whatever it is, they will help. Sadly, hotels such as this, cost huge sums to run and deserve to be well-supported to allow them to continue. Try it out....you will return home well rested and cared for
