Four of us stayed at the Portreath Arms in September, the rooms were excellent and the staff very welcoming, the pub serves good beer and has a great atmosphere, we ate in the restaurant which was fully booked but they managed to fit us in. The food and service was to the highest standard, I would certainly eat here again and recommend to others.

This was a lovely pub. We visited when staying locally and everyone in there were really friendly. The locals, the guests and the staff made it a lovely venue.

4 of us popped in here for lunch. I had the hot wings and chips, and I was not prepared for how hot they were. Two others had the same thing and enjoyed them. It was clean, the place was quiet and it was a calm, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were great and went out of their way to make sure I was ok as my mouth was burning from the wings. I was given a lemon sorbet pallet cleanser, and it really did the trick. A staff member told me that when I come again, I can ask for BBQ wings. I will definitely do that. It was a little on the expensive side. However, overall, it was a great experience.

Ate here twice in the restaurant really good food and atmosphere. Loud in the pub when busy even tho it?s small but good overall.

A very smiling and professional crew. Bys far the best food we had in all our B&B's and hotel along the coast from Penzance to Newquay. Quality and all. Perfect experience for us simple tourists. Many thanks.
Rooms: Simple and clean, good service. Perfect for us.
Food and drinks: Quality and quantity. Traditional, but obviously no industrial food. Made with love and care.

We have only eaten here; both at lunch in the bar, then for dinner in the restaurant. A tip if you want to eat in the restaurant , you have to book well in advance for popular times.
The menu is a refreshing change for a pub. Some real thought has gone into it. Some very interesting dishes. The old favourites are there too.
I had the lamb dish, which was superb. At lunch I tried fish and chips, which is a cut above most pubs offerings.
The staff are great and work very hard as the place was rammed!
The bar is well stocked with some great local ales.
I'm really pleased to give The Portreath Arms five stars!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Portreath Arms; the staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and the food was delicious - all reasonably priced too. A great stopover if hiking the coastal path

What a disappointment.
I ordered franks chicken wings with blue cheese dip. No where on the menu did it say these were super hot and spiced. I can usually eat spiced food but this was far too hot. I mentioned this to the waitress. She argued that it said hot on the menu. Then when she looked she realised it doesn?t. She then argued , everyone knows franks is a spiced sauce. I was sat with four other people, none of whom had heard of it.
The upshot is we spent £160 in their restaurant. I would have thought they could?ve afforded to knock £6 off the bill as a goodwill gesture.
The customer service was seriously lacking and tbh the rest of the food was too salty and/or flavourless. Even the macchiato coffee tasted off.
The chef needs to taste his/her food and the staff need to be more attentative to customer needs. Although I?m a holiday maker, my sister is a local and we both said neither of us would go back.
