Parking a few minutes walk away, bring change. The site is great, a fantastic museum/ exhibition of Cornish heritage. On the Heartlands site is also a Cornish language book shop, Kowsva, which, although small, is filled with everything you need to start your journey in learning the fantastic language. The cafe on site, The Red River Cafe, has a good range of food and drinks. A lovely friendly atmosphere too.The toilets for the site are also held within the Cafe.Highly recommend a visit to Heartlands.

Very interesting little gem of a museum although the entrance via a children's indoor play is a bit odd. Free to enter and have a walk around, gives a good history of Cornish mining and a vision of the future. We very nearly missed this after searching for Cornish mines and history this never seemed to come up, only happened to find it as we were nearby and the Red River Café on site had cream teas.Highly recommended the Red River Café too, the cream teas were delicious, with ample cream and jam ?

Very poor, paid parking but there really isn't anything to do if you have fairly recently visited the museum. This place needs to become an attraction for visitors and locals to enjoy not just a business opportunity.

Picked up a leaflet for Heartlands at a tourist spot and thought it would be worth a visit. - Unfortunately not as we hoped.Very untidy and other than the play park. It became very boring, very quickly.Nice to see the fish in the pond... not so nice to see more than one pair of underwear floating about in the water. Not worth wasting your limited time with the kids.

Lovely quiet area, great for a saunter around. Wonderful places hidden in the garden, where you can take in the atmosphere and grab a quick bite. Shame about the teenagers messing about in the water and filling the air with loud bass music.Red River cafe is a great place, also dog friendly which is always a bonus. Highly recommended.

My family and I went to Wheal Play, part of the Heartlands complex. It was a miserable day (weather-wise) and the place was fully booked... Luckily, we were among those who had planned ahead. Paying ridiculously little for two adults and even less for a child (a one-year-old), we went in and, if I'm honest, were a little overwhelmed at first. The play area looks small. It *looks* small. It's plenty big enough to exhaust even the most rambunctious tweenager. My child, being but wee one, was a little cautious at first, so being allowed to go in with him was great. For him, obviously. I didn't enjoy myself a bit, of course. I didn't enjoy the interior ball pit; I found no joy in the four different levels of soft play fun; and I really didn't like the twisty, turny, all-in-the-dark slide (I didn't like that three whole times - it's great having a kid!).Now, lest you think me serious, dearest reader of reviews, allow to clarify that this is all in jest. My boy, my wife and I had a great time, as did our friends who met us there with their 8-year-old and 6-month-old. There truly is something for everyone. This includes the very comfortable seating area for the grown-ups (those not releasing their inner-gerbil) AND the bottomless tea and coffee (and hot chocolate) for £3.Would I go again? Yes.Do I recommend it? Yes.Is it value for money? Yes.Did my kid enjoy it? Yes.Can you book online to avoid disappointment? Yes.

I went with my niece & great neices to the soft play area. It was very clean. Not too busy considering it is an awfully wet day & some teachers on strike so children off. Then we took them into the museum section, very interesting.

Went to the softplay here. It was our first time to one, the receptionist was very nice and constantly picking up toys! She always had a smile. There was a few big kids in the baby section who were over 4 that played very rough so we had to either act as a human shield to our 7 month old or stay out until they finished. Overall it was great and my little one enjoyed crawling and playing. Even interacting to other kids! Unlimited hot drinks for £3 and good changing facilities.

On this occasion I visited to see the official opening of the Forest for Cornwall display/exhibition and a ceremonial tree planting (Red Alder) for the launch of the project called a Forest for Cornwall (1st Dec 22). Heartlands celebrates Cornwall's mining heritage and culture, it also has a children's playground, gardens and water feature, along with a carpark close by, a cafe and exhibition space.

It's a nice area to go and see etc, has a small playground for kids to let of steam with climbing frames etc, also has a nice sized area to walk your dog as well, you do get a few mouthy grown up teens but you get that everywhere nowadays, it has a pay and display car park but you might as well use the local supermarket car parks as they are free but remember that you might only have 2-3 hours to park there!

Great soft play, the rest of the site is interesting, but not a lot of it was open today.
