I visited the jewellery repair workshop to have my engagement ring resized and was met with the absolute rudest man I've ever had the misfortune to meet in a service industry! He was rude, dismissive and belittled me for asking a question about the resizing process. Such a shame as all the other staff there are smiley, lovely, informative and helpful

Nice to look at the jewellery, that has been made in the shop. Friendly staff.
Cornish Pantry Breakfast could have been a bit Quicker & Hotter ?
Update went back January 25 & the breakfast was excellent ?

I visited the workshop today with my daughter, never have I had such bad customer service before from the workshop. I've visited multiple times in the past and the service has always been great. The man at the workshop today did not seem like he wanted to be there and made us feel like we were a huge inconvenience to him. It was very disappointing as this service has always been good. The prices have almost doubled for the rhodium plating which seems excessive. We went to the paint and create and had lunch in the cafe which was excellent.

When visiting the workshop today I received very unfriendly customer service. I felt anything was too much trouble. I?ve used the service at the workshop multiple times in the last 10 years for the rhodium plating and never experienced customer service like that before. I understand that the service takes a while, was told 3 hours, which was fine as we were painting and eating but when I went back to collect it was still not ready and was told another half an hour. Also bad service. I also understand prices go up but I didn?t expect it to be as much as it was. It?s nearly doubled in price. I did have it done this time as I think I was in shock but I will not be coming back to use this service again.

The gold experience and exhibition were excellent and well worth a visit. It was very interesting to see how the gold was processed from hard rock. 4 star ?
Large parking area and good accessible services.
The CAFE, which was large and, according to its many awards, APPEARED to offer some great food.
However, after the 30 min wait in line to place an order for coffee and food, we were told there would be a 50 min wait for food (11am).
As a result, I did not get to try the food. Whilst I was there, their was only one server who was working her socks off and clearing tables. However, I got the distinct impression the delays were in the kitchen, judging by the slow dribble of food coming out of the kitchen and not too many people eating at the time I was there.
The breakfasts looked really good... which makes me want to try again. Also, one of the locals was talking highly of their use of local produce.
The two lovely lady's at the tills, one taking orders and one making drinks, were never going to reduce the queue. Well done, you, for keeping smiling. ?
I feel like I missed out today.. maybe next time.

Good place to go.lots of history. Nice shop inside. Kids had great fun. From panning for gold and painting there own pottery.
Cafe was good most stuff was reasonably priced. Did think the cakes were a little pricey.
Lots of parking.
I enjoyed it with my family.
Definitely go back, when we are down that way again.

We went to cornwall gold 23rd of July 2024. The first part was very nice with the jewellers and little museum. Then we went ot the cafe where my partner had a sausage roll that looked like it had been nooked in a microwave so many times he couldn't eat it. Then went outside to the other part of the museum where most of it was closed and roof falling in. Then last but not least went to the gold panning whilst we was doing it I noticed there was maggots swimming in the water not very hygienic knowing children were putting there hands in there. I know this place is free but there should be some sort of standard

Cafe is an absolute embarrassment furnishing and decor are something to be marveled at, and not for a good reason!
Awful value for money, totally over priced. Ugly crockery and you had to get your own cutlery. (Which is fine if the price reflects this). Coffee still had grounds in, cake slice was £5.50 and was smaller than a piece of would give my grand ma at home. Not home made. Ugly frozen ingredients. Despite the website banging on about locally sourced.
They need to sort themselves out when they have the likes of Tehidy Woods cafe and Amy's kitchen close by. Those places are a standard you expect in cornwall in 2024.
Staff were odd, slow and bumbled around.
The whole experience was reflective of an Age UK cafe. Which I don't mind going to, its all about value for money in my opinion. And this missed the mark by Miles.

Called into the jewellery store after walking the trail. I enquired about having some pearls put onto my sleeper/ hoops. The lady that served me (so sorry I didn?t get her name) was so helpful. She priced up how much it would cost to have a couple of pearls wired to fit and also suggested taking a couple of pearls off a necklace and putting them on to my sleeper/hoop earring's which worked out a lot cheaper than having them made bespoke. She kindly offered to take the pearls off the necklace that I had chosen and placed them onto my original earrings. So I now have a more dressy pair of sleepers and a lovely necklace which was also cheaper than buying new earrings alone. This lady went above and beyond. Can?t thank her enough. She made my day.
Also they have lots of beautiful jewellery that caters for all budgets. Definitely worth a visit.

We came for the historical information and mill, and enjoyed spending 45-60 minutes perusing it. We also took a quick look at the jewelry store, cafe, bear works, and panning for gold - a nice mix of adult and kid activities. The historical information is really well done within the main centre and separate mill. It covers why the mill was here, showed machinery for how it operated, and told of how people lived whilst working there. Occasionally the sign lettering is a little small but the information included is really well done. The mill is also quite interesting to meander through as able to see the machines, as well as details about the 1919 Levant Mine disaster, like what happened and why it occurred. It takes around 15-30 minutes in both the interior and in the mill, depending on how quickly read.Pantry cafe had a significant amount of seating and decent looking drink and food options.Car park is huge - I assume it cost get quite full during busy periods.Toilets were quite nice and clean.
