The sooner it closes fir redevelopment and new management the better! No decaff coffee and victoria sponge so bad even the robins wouldn't eat the crumbs, possibly the over powering vanilla flavoured synthetic cream put them off too. A general feeling of "who cares, we are going" Some where we will avoid after 25 years of custom until it reopens

The most lovely two blonde ladies serving made out visits. They were so kind, polite and welcoming. We bought our dog with us for a quick bite on our way home, so glad we did.

We are regular visitors to this cafe, and our grandchildren love being taken here for a treat, their eyes popping at the wonderful selection of cakes to choose from. Staff are always helpful, accomodating and friendly. Very handy to drop in on a return from Penzance for some lunch...baguettes (especially prawns with Marie Rose sauce) are a lunchtime favourite. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

I visited The Garden Kitchen Cafe with my mum for a spot of lunch. Busy, as it often is at lunch time but I felt the till service worked better than table service as we didn?t need to wait for a waitress to become available to give our order. Our food looked great and was very hot. The chicken burger was very nice and the bun was light and fluffy. The coleslaw is my favourite so I always ask for a side order. It?s made in the kitchen so I know it?s fresh and made with no hidden nasties that you often get if it?s shop bought. Front of house staff were friendly and welcoming and checked in on us a couple of times to check our meal was ok and to see if we required anything else. We have visited a few times now and won?t hesitate to go again.

I shall assume that we just got unlucky since so many reviews are good but whilst the staff were delightful, service itself was desperately slow. 45 minutes to receive our order, though coffee was quick (and delicious). But the food was woeful. The tart of the day was very evidently micro-waved as it was soggy and limp. Given how long it took for the order to arrive there would have been plenty of time to heat the tart properly in the oven for a correctly crisp pastry. Micro-waved pastry is horrible. The salad that came with it was covered in cheap 'supermarket' type dressing out of a bottle, as was the coleslaw. Good dressings are so easy to make from scratch without the horrible gummy aftertaste of bottled dressing. Our second meal of scampi had tiny shreds of prawn with a thick layer of batter and peas that arrived cold and wrinkled so no idea how long they'd been on the plate. The chips were very good however. For all the disappointment in the food, the staff really were super and friendly with a warm welcome. Pity the kitchen let them down on our visit. We will try again though as the cakes looked lovely and the coffee was super.

The food is good for a garden centre cafe, but the service is excellent. This is a good place to stop for a meal, snack or coffee & cake on the journey between Helston and Penzance. Good parking and an interesting garden centre to explore. I would certainly recommend.

Popped in for lunch as we were picking up a couple of plants. Had the cottage pie which was of ample proportions and nice and hot ?. Only slight criticism is that the peas were a bit insipid ... prefer fresh/garden peas. The restaurant was very busy and hence quite noisy. The lovely staff were working their socks off to fulfill the orders .
