We darted in here on a horribly wet walk and no one batted an eyelid and us walking in soaked. We grabbed a spot by the lovely roaring fire and had some light nibbles. On the privet side but all tasty and brilliant service. The dog loved him nap by the fire too as they do take dogs in the bar area.

Extortionate prices. £11 for a shandy and a lime & lemonade is a disgrace.Pretty much the only food on offer was a near £40 two course lunch!Seriously no need to charge these sorts of prices.

Lovely hotel,excellent food and service but not cheap and parking is an issue.Nearby activities: Unless you're a walker or into water sport then activities are limited.

We had Sunday lunch ,which we cannot faultBeautifully cooked . Team running the hotel were very friendly and welcoming , I would note it was not the cheapest but worth every penny. We look forward to returning.Walkability: Easy walk from Port Isaac

Had an incredible meal here this evening, very quaint seaside decor, friendly and welcoming staff, and one of the best meals I have had in years. I highly recommend both the Bass and the Haddock, as well as the Dessert Soufflée and Apple Pie(?). Every single component of every dish was cooked to perfection. A little on the pricey side but well worth every penny

This was such a wonderful place to stay! We were able to walk everywhere, even to the surrounding hills. Wonderful views and so peaceful. The restaurants near by were tasty and great to have happy hour and watch the sun go down. My favorite though was their included breakfast, high quality with such care. I didn't want to leave. Thank you for a sublime experience.

What a gorgeous old pub. A lovely, well stocked bar with wonderful staff. Warm and welcoming place. Hope to come back soon to sample the menu.Food & drinks: Great menu, and wonderful bar... Sharps ales are very much in evidence, with Proper Job and Tribute on draught.

Lovely pub, with great views out of port gaverne. We enjoyed the walk from port Isaac had a cheeky pint and then walked back which makes the steep road easier to manage? lovely local beers and ales on tap, highly recommend the harbour brewery artic sky ipa!

We stay in Port Issac every year for 2 weeks and love it, we found out this year that Port Gaverne Hotel was doing a Sunday Lunch which is quite rare down here in summer.We have just had the most amazing meal, service was outstanding and the scenery is epic. Tender pink roast beef, cabbage that was to die for, the finest Yorkshire Pudding I think I have ever eaten (and I live 10 miles south of Yorkshire!)I have eaten in Tom Kerridges Hand and Flowers for Sunday lunch (2 Michelin Star) and The Ritz in London, I can honestly say this was to the same standard, I dare say I enjoyed it more! MUST try it if you?re in the area, can?t recommend highly enough and huge thanks to all front and back of house staff who made it such an amazing experience! 5/5.EDIT - Noticed a few reviews moaning about the price. Cornwall is very seasonal, profit is made April - September and outside of those months no doubt they operate at a loss. For me, this was Michelin quality food at half the price. I?m not a rich man but I can appreciate quality over quantity. If you want a cheap Sunday Lunch of overcooked vegetables and meat that been sitting for ages then go to a Toby Carvery. If you want to appreciate an amazing dining experience at half the price of London then try this.

I am reviewing the Sunday lunch our family had today which was really one of the best Sunday roasts we have ever had. Everything on the plate was just delicious. The beef was rare, potatoes and Yorkshire pud crispy and the veg delicious. We were three adults and two children . There was a children?s menu which was very much appreciated. The desserts were to die for!!

Hotel for millionaires! This hotel charges top prices for accommodation and meals. Limited menu. Fish and chips plus a small starter is £38 per person. Accommodation is difficult to access because of narrow, steep stairs and is limited. The position of the hotel is good but parking is restricted to a few spaces in an adjoining street. The one good point are the serving staff who are kind and thoughtful. Other tourists were saying that since COVID the locals have bumped up their prices to make up their losses. They are killing the golden goose!

What a disappointment. We have been going to Port Gaverne hotel to eat since we were in our twenties. We are now in our eighties. We won?t be going again unless it changes hands or management. The waitresses were the only saving grace. The menu was ridiculously expensive. This place used to serve the best crab sandwiches ever. And the rest of the food was always good. Oh dear.
