Ordered four portions of fish & chips ? asked for three with just salt and one with salt & vinegar (extra vinegar). Got the opposite: three salt & vinegar, one salt. Fish was far too salty.
Spent nearly £50 and wasn?t even offered a bag ? when I asked, I was told it?s 10p, but I didn?t have any cash on me. Regardless, I still wasn?t given one and was left carrying four hot paper taps by hand. Really poor service and not worth the money.

All the chips are gluten free - separate fryer. There is gluten free vinegar and fish on request. Friendly staff, fast service, lovely chips

I visited Haddock?s End in Perranporth to pick up two family meals after seeing some strong reviews online and on Google, so my expectations were reasonably high. Unfortunately, the experience didn?t quite live up to what I?d hoped for.
When I arrived, it was kind of busy, three or four people waiting ahead of me, max!, which is perfectly normal for a seaside chip shop getting ready for peak time. I leaned over to the person cooking and politely asked if they could pop a vegetarian burger on for me, as I know from my own experience of owning and running three fish and chip shops for over a decade that a little heads-up helps to keep things running smoothly.
Instead of an acknowledgment or even a friendly ?No problem,? I was met with a scowl and a blunt, ?Yeah, we?ll do it in a minute mate when I get a chance.? Not exactly the warmest welcome and certainly not the kind of attitude that makes you feel valued as a customer.
The wait itself wasn?t long, and the food was ready quickly enough. Prices were the typical high seaside rates you come to expect, fair enough if the quality and portions justify it, but in this case, they didn?t come close.
When I got to the beach and unpacked the vegetarian burger, it was just that: a burger in a dry bun. No salad, no sauce, no offer of anything extra when it was handed over. Just a dry bread roll and patty. Pretty underwhelming and bland, especially given the price (see attached photos). I had to doctor it with some chips and curry sauce just to make it palatable.
On a slightly positive side
.. just, ...the chips themselves were good, fresh, well-cooked, and not overly greasy , and I?m told the fish was good too, although again eye watering costs.
Overall though, it felt like a fairly average experience all round: disappointing service, underwhelming food quality for the price, and a vegetarian option that clearly hadn?t been given much thought at all. Would I recommend it? Honestly, probably not, especially given the other strong choices in town.
It?s the sort of place that could easily be great with a bit more care and customer service, but sadly it didn?t quite hit the mark for me this time.

A nice takeaway chip shop, we previously visited a few years ago and returned. I thought the food was well priced (of course if you?re having fish be prepared to pay more). Only thing to note is that they had almost ran out of chips, it was unsure whether we?d get the number of portions we wanted but we did. Staff were friendly for us.

The worst chips in the area. This chippy went down the hill since winter time. The chips are uncooked and mushy. Went to bin. We tried to tell them how bad the chips were but by the rude reaction it looks like they pride themselves on these kind of chips.

Chip nice but the gourmet burger was a joke, £10 for a cheese burger which when handed to me looked smaller than a McDonald?s happy meal burger, will never order burger again but chips nice just small portions

Food was lovely, staff were absolutely diabolical, rude, unwelcoming, lady at the till said ?she couldn?t be arsed?. Shame that the staff have let the lovely food down, first time in Cornwall and not a good example to be set

Really nice traditional seaside fish and chips. Vegetarian options could be better (all they had was a veggie burger), but for a chop shop, it was good.

I never leave bad reviews I normally prefer not to say anything if it?s negative as I work in hospitality myself however the staff here were very rude & I felt like we had seriously put them out paying over £30 for 2 fish, chips & peas. I feel like asking for a bag for my order was a step too far for them & clearly asking for too much. Not a nice experience.

We recently visited and ordered cod and chips with a battered sausage and asked for everything to be wrapped together, however it came separate. The order was taken very quickly and almost felt rushed even though there was noone else waiting.
Food was nice, but portion was rather small for the cost, both the fish and chips.
