Quick visit because the wife fancied Fish and Chips. Friendly lady took my order and there was banter between staff when another lady pointed me out to her colleague not realising I'd been served already.
Freshly cooked food, decent size portions and tasty, especially the curry sauce.

Pure vibes - food was exactly as you would expect.
The lady taking orders and greeting customers was an absolute delight.

Absolutely dire ! Cheese &onion pastie and traditional pastie with chips . Took 45 minutes pasties had leather type pastry so hard the seagulls struggled to eat it .
The cheese and onion filling was rank , like lumps if burger cheese with slice bits of potato really nasty ! My dogs didn?t even want it and they eat anything .
Service was so slow , when a number was called people cheered, we were 70 and there were numbers 86 , 92 63 , really bad system , save yourself the disappointment go else where , not cheap either

We ordered only 1 bag of chips and 1 battered sausage and we waited 40 minutes, it was ridiculous! You could see there were several people working, but absolutely no rush in them. There was also no apology for the wait, even after we had to go back in and remind them of our order and to ask if it had been forgotten. On top of this, the food itself wasn?t even that good. Sorry but I would not visit here at all, there are other lovely chippies in Perranporth to go to.

If I could give this chip shop zero stars then I would. After ordering and waiting 15 minutes someone came in and order ten fish and chips, five sausage and chips and cheesy chips. This order came to approximately £150. Myself and another four customers who had ordered prior to this large order then were made to wait until the large order was completed. Absolutely ridiculous. All in all myself and other customers waited about 50 minutes. Just before my food arrived the assistant asked me if I wanted I refund. I said no, but to be honest I should have accepted the refund as the chips were anaemic, greasy and soggy and the fish was also greasy and tasteless; the mushy peas had about three actual peas in the watery mush. I won't be going to Browns again. No apology from the female assistant either. Go to one of the other chip shops in Perranporth instead of Browns. The others close earlier than Browns; this is the only reason Browns get custom; it certainly isn't because their food is good.

Very disappointed with the quality. Chips were slightly undercooked and anemic and inedible. Asked for salt and vinegar and none was present. Should have listened to previous reviews. Doesn't look like much has changed.

Needed gluten-free chip shop. This place hit the spot. Reasonable pricing. Cooked fresh. Very tasty.

Had takeaway fish and chips and took them to a place overlooking the beach , the chips were rubbery and tasted like they had been kept warm for quite a while , certainly not fresh , the fish was ok ish, we asked for salt and vinegar, but when we got to open them neither mine or my wife's had salt and vinegar on them . Would not recommend

We visited here as my friend is a celiac and they had a small GF selection. Starting with the good points, there was a lovely friendly lady serving?. That?s pretty much it for the good stuff !
Without a doubt this was the worst takeaway meal I?ve ever tried to eat, if there was a rating lower than ? I wouldn?t feed this to my worst enemy ? for my cod and chips I?d happily use it. The chips were inedible and the barely battered cod was in competition with my wooden fork for who?s the skinniest in the chip wrapper. This wasn?t such bad thing as it turned out to be pretty awful anyway.
My Sons battered sausage wasn?t too bad in fairness, but he also threw all his chips away. The steak and kidney pie was a strong 6/10, and as for my friends gluten free cod, this was dripping some kind of strange murky fish water. At best he?s gonna be really ill during the night, but if I?m honest I?m not expecting him to survive the experience ! He also threw away his chips. Honestly, if you?re faced with the choice of eat here or starve, then starve and also save a load of money as it?s really not cheap here.

food was nothing like some of the recent bad reviews. it was nice, not enough to say brilliant. but the portion size was a bit too much for us to finish it all. Maybe had too much at lunchtime......fish batter looked greasy but t wasn't at all, our chips were all cooked well, I always worry when they are lighter in colour that they won't be cooked.
we had a takeaway and sat at the beach wall, it was very pleasant.

Do your self a favour and keep on walking! Seriously, this place is bad, like really bad, actually the worst fish and chips I ever had. Fish was far from fresh with a horible texture, like it was defrosted a few days ago and the batter was a horrendous colour from the dirty oil it was cooked in and chips, well they were vile as well, made from what appeared to be bruised potatoes and they seem to have been reheated, very odd. We literally had to throw the lot in bin and I did taste lest a foul taste for quite some time. Honestly, you're probably best avoiding this place.
