Don?t stay here if you don?t want to make your own bed! Went to Port Isaac for our first full day - which was lovely- but in returning around 5.30pm no one had been in to do the room -unmade bed, dirty tea cups, wet towels, went down to reception as they weren?t answering the phone and they said they only did the room if you stayed for three days or more!!!! She said if you really couldn?t clean your own room then you had to hang a m sage in your door- we never found this after a full search of the room! To add insult to injury they then wanted me to pay for a dairy free cappuccino at breakfast next morning and at dinner in the Ozu restaurant our main course of sea bass looked more like an amuse bouche! I think they were playing on the eco/ trendy theme a bit much - assume it was more like cutting back on everything! You didn?t get a cooked breakfast unless you paid for it not even eggs! Lots of pastries and breads and buns and sticky things though if you aren?t gluten free! Sorry, not our cup of tea at all and I told the waitress if she didn?t bring me a free dairy free cappuccino then I would want to see the manager- funnily enough it arrived with a warning that I would have to pay the next morning- what do you think I said to that!!!

Brilliant stay! We live locally and I have always wanted to visit! So I took my boyfriend for his birthday as a surprise. We had a night stay, dinner in the wild cafe and breakfast. Dinner was lovely and there was so much at the continental breakfast to choose from! I think one of the best ones I have had as some can be boring. The spa was lovely, very clean and the design / colour scheme was very pretty. It also had a balcony we were lucky to use as had lovely weather. The hotel and room itself was lovely, and the grounds outside were so pretty very well maintained! I didn't go for a sea room view as luckily we live a 5 min drive from the sea. The windows went onto the car park/hotel entrance which was very noisy early in the morning! (only downfall but can't be helped) Seen some less positive reviews when looking, but as I have wanted to go there for a while we still went and I really can't fault it. Overall a really lovely time and looking forward to going back there!

We love this part of Cornwall and stay locally each year. I've also visited the spa at the hotel with a friend back in 2019. We enjoyed the spa visit but commented at the time that the indoor pool looked a bit tired and not very inviting. We've had a particularly busy summer and were due to start our holiday on the Saturday. I called the hotel and managed to book a two bedroom suite for one night only (Fri) at a cost of £610. Pricey but we thought we'd start the holiday off with a bit of family luxury. I'll be honest the visit has fallen short throughout and we checked out feeling quite disappointed for what wasn't a cheap stay. Firstly the suites are spacious and in a separate building to the hotel and you can't deny the view is stunning. We never tire of it but the décor in the rooms is pretty uninspiring and the bathroom in need of attention. There was a crack on the bath panel and the grouting definitely needed attention. Having said that the beds were comfy and the homemade biscuits a nice touch. We used the indoor swimming pool and again it felt tired and little had improved from 2019. The outdoor pool was nice but the sunbeds around were dirty and in need of a wipe down. Our biggest bug bear though was the service in the restaurants, we had coffee and cake on arrival, the girl behind the counter was lovely but completely rushed off her feet so we waited ages for our coffees. Things didn't improve much for lunch with a v chaotic feel. We ate dinner at the Wild Cafe too, the food is good with lots of options for adults and children but again 3 staff on for a full restaurant is inadequate and left us searching for staff on more than one occasion to ask to order, for condiments or the bill. On top of that we weren't greeted when we waited to be seated for breakfast we were barked at! The lady on the desk was positively rude and was the final straw for me. It's certainly not the guests fault that you are running understaffed! All in all a pretty disappointing stay in what should have been a lovely start to our holiday. We won't name it but there is a delightful luxury holiday park less than a mile away which is cheaper, the place is spotless and the service always brilliant. Sorry but we'll stick to what we know next time and will give Bedruthen a miss.

I visited Bedruthan spa for the afternoon and had a lovely, relaxing time. The lunch in the wild cafe was delicious with attentive servers, the sensory garden was truly wonderful and the balance massage with Charlotte was the best I?ve ever had!

When I read through the reviews on here for this hotel, I was mystified as to the disparity between the scores. How could some be some be so low and some so high?? The truth is that the reality is somewhere in the middle. 1) There is some issues with the rooms for sure. We had a Seaview room, which was a lot different from how it was advertised on the website. It was a lot smaller and had a giant wardrobe at the end of the bed. Decor needs updating. On the website photos, there is no sign of the grim railings across the window. The window was extremely difficult to open and close. Some careful consideration really needs to be given to the rooms. Some hooks in bathrooms would be good. Beds very comfy and showers very nice. 2) The outside spaces are beautiful, the gardens and outlook are stunning. Whoever is taking care of the gardens is doing a wonderful job. 3) The food at the OGO was exceptional. Yes it was expensive but you can see the prices before you book?! They catered well to my dietary requirements as a vegan, and the afternoon tea was delicious. Food at the Wild cafe was decent. The breakfast was nice and people saying there is only bread and pastries is rubbish. There is a variety of fresh fruit, including blueberries, strawbs, melon, raspberries. Lots of waffle toppings, vegan options including chia pudding and smoothies. I paid for the vegan cooked breakfast one morning (again I read this so was aware on booking) and this was really yummy. Cocktails were very nice in the bar. 4) I did not go to the spa, my partner said it was nice but that lockers for valuables would be helpful. 5) Yes the hotel is child and dog friendly. If this bothers you, do your research and book somewhere else instead of moaning about it. 6) All of the staff were pleasant and polite. It was not our experience that anyone was rude or miserable. However, if staff were occasionally like this with some of the entitled, stuck up clientele, then it would be no surprise. Lots of annoying middle class people whining about getting their own coffee. Some dude even jumped behind the reservations desk to look for his own booking whilst staff were serving someone else. You'd have to be a saint to put up with some of these guests day in and day out whilst keeping a smile on your face. Mainly, some updates needed in the rooms and common areas :)

Sadly, this hotel has declined at an alarming rate which is such a shame as we were so impressed when we first stayed here 3 years ago. This is a our 4th (and last) visit. A combination of lacklustre customer service from disengaged staff and ?cutbacks? which the hotel will try to convince you is ?listening to their customers and the business owners? (don?t be fooled, it can only be the latter), maintaining their eco credentials and putting sustainability first. Examples of putting sustainability at the heart of the hotel is there are no longer any no telephones in the rooms. You must use an App to communicate with the hotel team if you need something. It doesn?t work. And you can forget room service. Also, you can no longer run a tab for any food or drink purchases made during your stay. Everything must be paid for on demand. Who does this suit exactly? When I quizzed the reception and spa staff about pool heating in the small outdoor pool, I was told that neither of the pools are heated. The small outdoor pool was heated when we stayed in 2020. I tried to make this point with a couple of their staff, but it fell on deaf ears. The Lanai which had a bar and indoor/outdoor terrace has not reopened, it?s looks derelict. Therefore, the only place you can buy a drink in the hotel (when not dining) is the indoor bar. And don?t expect a smile or any acknowledgement when you wait patiently for the only member of staff working behind the bar, preying they will eventually serve you. Obviously, no table service. It feels more like a Wetherspoons now. The Spa lockers have been removed (sustainability?) so your valuables are now left in the holes where the lockers were previously located. Also, the fruit teas prepared for guests in the Spa, not anymore. Finally, my biggest grievance, is about transparency and honesty. Not to be mistreated of hoodwinked even. I booked with a 25% deposit in January for an August 2-night stay. The booking confirmation clearly states that the balance will be due upon departure. Fair enough. I then received an email on the morning of my departure confirming I had paid in full. I thought that?s odd as I haven?t actioned a second payment for the balance owing. I then checked my credit card statement and was shocked to see that the remaining 75% balance had been taken from credit card on 22nd July, 3 weeks before my stay! I then clicked the booking terms (in the email confirming that no final payment would be taken until our departure) to see it states that the balance owing will actually be taken 21 days before arrival from the card used at the time the booking was made. So why inform your unsuspecting customers in the booking confirmation that the balance will be taken on departure when (hidden in the T?s & C?s) there is clearly no intention of waiting until the departure date? At the very least this is duplicitous, but I think it is completely underhand to treat your customers this way and it left a very sour taste after a truly disappointing stay. Poor show Bedruthan. Plenty of other 4 star hotels in the area that are not masquerading as a company that cares about their customers.

This has to be my favourite place in England. We have been coming back for 14 years and it has grown up with our daughter The location is idyllic. The hotel fabulous and the food is gorgeous with amazing views. A fantastic beach with lovely coastal walks.

This is at best a 2 star hotel with a 5 star view of the beautiful Mawgan Porth beach. We paid £1, 547 for a 4 night stay. Sadly this well located hotel has not been looked after over the last few years and is now dated and quite rundown. In addition the service is dreadful - I believe this due to lack of staff and lack of good service training. They have a new manager & I hope they can turn things around, as the hotel has great potential. You need to be aware that rooms are NOT cleaned daily (not great with kids and a Sandy beach), towels are not changed unless you ask for them. It is very noisy - especially if you have a room with rooms above (wooden floors). You also need to love dogs - they are allowed and sadly took over the hotel (we love dogs and have one) . One owner told us her dog was in season (I wouldn?t want their room, especially as the cleaning is just not good enough). The staff at the spa were also rude to my daughter. The food was pretty good, although very expensive and terrible service.

Staying whilst daughter partied at Boardmasters. What a lovely treat! Beautiful hotel with friendly, kind staff. Great facilities, restaurants and stunning views. Spa lovely but remember to book ahead. Loved it.

They must have spent a good amount on photography and the website, because the hotel itself is nothing like it?s shown. It is filthy, and the staff are miserable. The rooms feel like student accommodation with bad pillows and stained ceilings. Taking a shower felt like making it worse. The food was poor and the staff treat you as though you are an inconvenience. Awful awful hotel.

What a perfect afternoon! We had afternoon tea, but arrived early to enjoy the stunning views and facilities this place had to offer, such as the tranquility room, huge egg chairs overlooking the beach on the balcony, and a beautiful short walk from the hotel to the beach. This was quite possibly the nicest afternoon tea myself and my wife have ever had!Staff seemed lovely and helpful, and the hotel itself is very impressive. Fully deserving of my 5 stars!Thank youFood & drinks: We can only vouch for a nice coffee, lovely chilled water, and almost certainly the best afternoon tea we've ever had!!

Pros -The hotel is lovely. It?s in a really nice spot with the most beautiful terrace looking over the sea. Only a 5 minute walk down to the beach with a local pub nearby too.The spa area and services are great. The pool is large enough for a decent swim and the sauna facilities are clean and well looking after. The staff are all very attentive and couldn?t have been more helpful.Cons -The rooms got very hot whilst we were there. We found the room a bit dusty so it made it quite stuffy overall. We didn?t have AC so it was a struggle on the hot mornings! There are quite a lot of families around. It?s fine for the most part but the lounge area and the common pool area can get fairly loud with kids so it?s more family friendly than a blissful retreat.Overall, would highly recommend and would go again.

Fantastic location and amazing views of the beach from most places including bar, restaurant, spa and mist outside spaces.A steep walk down to the beautiful beach.Outstanding restaurant with fab buffet breakfast. Great baked goods from sourdough bread, croissants, pastries etc.lots of local produce at the breakfast and throughout the menu. The staff everywhere were very helpful friendly and efficient, from the handyman to the restaurant waiting staff. The spa is great. The sensory spa (I think it?s called) is extra and worth every penny of the £45. It involves various scrubs, showers, sauna, and hot tubs finishing by a wood fire drinking herbal tea. The sauna with views of the ocean is amazing. The appearance from the road belies the great interior. Lots of artwork adorn the walls and rooms are very tastefully decorated and well appointed.Environmental concerns abound with segregation of waste, plastic minimised and local products used wherever possible.Totally recommend this place.Rooms: Tastefully decorated and well appointed.Comfy beds and great linenOur room had a fab twin shower.Toiletries provided are amazing.Nearby activities: The beach is close by and has a great beach break for surfingSafety: All precautions are taken re safety but note lots of steps as on steep hillFood & drinks: Fantastic local produceGreat variety of drinksGood choice of wines

Had the opportunity to experience a full day at a work event, which turned out to be quite remarkable. The facilities were truly impressive, boasting breathtaking views. The highlight was the delightful 3-course dinner, where every dish surpassed expectations. The food was fresh, of excellent quality, and beautifully presented. Without a doubt, I highly recommend the experience.
