Lovely atmosphere!Whilst at a loss for a couple of hours on a Sunday morning, I sought out a cooked breakfast, I can happily say that this did not disappoint.Fire was lit, and the staff were friendly. Next time I'm back, I'll be sure to return.

Loved it here. As with other Artist Residences, individual and quirky room decor (but all tasteful and clean). Good location and free on street parking not far (couple of minutes walk). They have a restaurant which is nice; a little limited for vegetarian options but nice food.I've always found the service in Artist Residence places very good and this was no exception. Very friendly and helpful, with lots of good suggestions of things to do, see, where to eat etc. (without being overbearing!).Breakfast selection is very good and they have a bar and wood fire to sit by in the cold months (we were there in January). All in all, couldn't ask for more!Rooms: Really liked the rooms. Good amount of space and tasteful decor. Decent facilities and lovely shower!Food & drinks: On site restaurant and bar with good selection of food and drinks

We ate lunch here. The menu is compact, though there is something for most people's palate.I must say I found the drinks and food very expensive...£9 for a sandwich.£6 for a pale ale.The food was tasty but would I eat there again?Only if pushed. They allow dogs..Nearby activities: In days gone past, Chapel Street was a well-known antique and Artinsnal area.Sadly, in the 1990s and 2000s it lost a lot of the must visit atmosphere. I am pleased to say that happily it is now coming back.It is slowly regaining the atmosphere that it used to have. This hotel and restaurant is evidence of this change. Albeit more expensive than I would like.Walkability: Easily reached, though the pavements are narrow and, at times, slippery. It is not suitable for easy wheelchair use, though it is manageable.Beware of cars if forced to walk off pavement.Food & drinks: Expensive. The beer choice is very limited.Sandwiches are artisinal and also expensive.Would I eat there again? Only as a last resort because of the cost.Noteworthy details: Penzance is changing and polarising. You have the general pasty, KFC, Chinese, Thai, pub, and other standard cafe culture type foods up and down the high street. Then there seems to be a more expensive trend in some of the pubs and restaurants, sadly with high-end pricing.I think there has been a slow influx of "up country" start-ups and new influences that are coming into the town that have brought more expensive ideas.Although penzance sorely needed a shake-up.I hope the changes are not too soon for what is still a poorer underlying populace.

I stopped by here on Sunday for a bite to eat with the girl I love and her dog. We were welcomed by a warm and friendly chap called Daniel who made our whole experience amazing. It had been an emotional day and this was exactly what we needed. Daniel was not only very likeable but very attentive without intruding, he nailed the balance perfectly! The place itself is beautiful and relaxing, the food was also good but it's the staff that make it?

Excellent in all respects - location, interiors, staff and food. The rooms are very well stocked with local treats, generous bathroom products and imaginatively done up. Our dog was thoroughly spoilt. So were we.

We arrived early in Penzance and I walked around with my husband to find a coffee shop and we came across with Artist Residence Clubhouse. The atmosphere inside was amazing with a inspiring layout, a very good vibe and amazing staff. We both went for Full English Breakfast as we had a full day ahead and it was a really good choice as the quality of ingredients in the food is of high standards. They've used smoked paprika for beans together with homemade bread and sausage.

An excellent room with a fine view of the historic Admiral Benbow: the room was quirky, yet modern and with every convenience (including a minibar - a rarity nowadays!) Fantastic service in the restaurant, except for one morning, when breakfast was very delayed, but that's a minor quibble. A highly recommended hotel.

Truly nice and different experience. This hotel really stands out by its looks, by its service and by the quality of food. Everything to the finest detail is foreseen (European plug, Nespresso machine, fridge, qualitative tea and biscuits). Staff are genuinely friendly and sincerely helpful. Very dog friendly hotel with dog bed, dog biscuits and bowls. Very tasty breakfast. Thanks to the airconditioning in the room and a very comfortable bed we had a good nights sleep. Robes in the room were a pleasant surprise.
