Visited for lunch in the bar. Wonderful and generous sharing platter for two with sole, sea bass, 4 large battered fish goujons, calamari, salad and a bowl of skin-on fries. Fresh and well cooked. Reasonable value in Padstow at £50. A pint of Brains cask ale and a large glass of sauvignon blanc added £13.90. Recommended. Be cafeful that your pleasant shaded table outside won't be in full sun before you leave.

Damien absolutely made our night and was the loveliest server. Cannot recommend enough. The outside area was lovely with a great atmosphere and the food was delicious with a wonderful selection of fresh fish and vegetarian options! This was our favourite restaurant that we visited during our Padstow stay.

Me and my partner came here for a meal, the lady who served us the drinks was very welcoming and friendly, I had the curry and my partner had the three cheese linguine the meals were average and over priced for the quality, my partner could taste the cornflour in his linguine, the service by an older male was terrible he served the meals before he gave us the cutlery which we had to wait around 10 minutes for as he went off to serve other customers, he then forgot to give me the mango chutney and a spoon for my partners linguine which he then was going to get us, we waited a while to the point the meal was nearly finished he still did not come back with the chutney or spoon instead he served other people and totally forgot so I went up to the lady behind the bar and she apologised and brought over the chutney and spoon, shockingly terrible service. I would give it a one star but the ladies were friendly and professional.

One of my Happy Places. Wherever I am in Cornwall or Devon I drive out of my way to come here and have done for years. I won?t hear a bad word against this place it?s a small part of heaven.

We have stayed at the Old Ship many times since 2000 and have always enjoyed our time there, the hotel is ideally situated very near the picturesque harbour and is fortunate enough to have a large car park at the rear of the hotel for the exclusive use of hotel guests. It is very friendly family run and the staff are invariably pleasant and helpful, the food is of a pretty good standard and there is a good range of bar drinks. I notice some of the reviews mention with some consternation that the management do not allow the consumption of customers own food at the hotels tables even though they have purchased drinks, personally I think that the management have to enforce this rule quite vigorously as otherwise this situation could get out of hand very quickly, almost all hospitality establishments have this rule for very obvious and understandable reasons.

The room was dirty and small. The bathroom is in need of a renovation and we found leftovers off the previous guest in the bin. The breakfast was okay but the table was dirty. All in all, the quality does not math the price. On the positiv side, the staff was very friendly.

Was a little disappointed the food wasn?t on, as we went specially - however we had drinks and the bar manager let us grab some pasty?s from over the road and eat at the table with our drinks as the food was off which I thought was quite decent of him, will return when foods on

Came in for a beer after a long walk. Walked up to the bar and the server couldn't be bothered to serve me. Another customer arrived a bit after me, it was obvious I was there first but he just ignored me and served the other person. Left the building straight away and didn't return.

Went for food around 4pm yesterday for five people big mistake probably the worst food in padstow2 had cajun chicken wraps this was not made from breast and was brown meat and has gristle in it 2 had fish wraps which was also a grey fish all very dry as if it had been cooked and kept warm . The last meal was a chicken burger although again quality not great at least it was edible .The one meal was offered to be replaced but we declined as four out five meals were so badWouldn't eat here again

We didn?t stay at The Old Ship but popped in for breakfast! Even though we were 10 minutes before breakfast ended they were totally accommodating and Damien, our server was wonderfully friendly with lots of good chat for the traveler like us!
