We arrived at the shop at 5 pm just as it opened we ate in. My husband and l had small fish & chips with curry sauce and mushy peas. The fish was good, the peas and curry fine. The chips were not they were hard dry and bitty. Obviously warm ups from lunchtime. You couldnt pick them up with a fork they were so hard. No quality checks done. The young lad behind the counter was too busy with the remote deciding what music to play on the TV! Tried a few times especially to catch his eye eventually l went up to him and asked him to come over to look at the chips. He offered to replace them but we were leaving we had had enough. Very disappointed this visit - first time ever this has happened. We will try somewhere else next time. Suggest waiting until shop has been open at least half an hour if you go at teatime - then the same won't happen to you!

Thursday night at just past 5 we ordered, it took 30 minutes to get our food. I think you need to rethink how many staff you have serving, the young lad was taking orders and serving food to the takeaway and also the people sitting in the restaurant.
There was plenty of food cooked as you could see it in the hot cabinet.
Having said that the fish and chips were nice, I've certainly had worse and also better.
£30 for fish and chips, sausage and chips, beans and chips and three drinks, I suppose that's pretty standard.

Nice sea side food. We had small fish and chips. We expected a small fish, it was! But expected a normal chips. My son had sausage and chips and got loads more chips. Not cheap but would go back.

The food was horrendous, the batter on the fish was really greasy and the chips were soggy and swimming in grease too as well as not cooked. It looked like they had been dunked them in the oil and taken them straight out again

Very bad experience. Never had such a bad fish and chips in my life. Mine and my husband?s fish were extremely greasy, chips were extremely greasy and soggy. My fish barely had any fish in it, only batter and fish skin. We were asked if the food was okay, once I said it is very bad I was only apologised to, not even partial refund was offered. We barely touched the food and left. Would never go back there again and I would not recommend anyone going there.

Wow. Freshly cooked as you wait. Curry sauce is phenomenal. Small fish and chips (more than enough for a grown man) 2 sausage and chips and 2 Kids meals under £30. Considering the location that's great value. Fish batter was perfect. The fish isn't crumbly and has great consistency. Honestly the best fish and chips I've eaten.

Went in this chippy after three years away having a bad experience there , the man serving was grumpy and very unwelcoming , food was crap chips look lied they was fried three days ago. But the real reason I?m writing this is the way he treated a lady and her daughter next in the queue he was rude and argumentative with her making her feel two inches tall , all because she wanted her fish and chips wrapped separately but to be fair she did have to pay almost £50 for this abuse and grumpiness , I thought I?d give it a second chance but back to flounders it is , avoid this place like you avoided getting covid

Owner was short and rude with us, food was bland and greasy and prices relative to quality is high. Went to Harbour Fish and chips day after which is so much better

The staff was welcoming and the place is so clean. The waiting time for our order was very short. Really enjoyed their fish and chips.

They were nice, but the food was horrible, they charged you for the sauces cos they know you are going to pay anything so you can camouflage the flavour.
The homemade fish cake, I understood like something nice didn't understood homemade as a threat, horrible.

Ordered a small fish and chips. Added a can of coke and it all came to under £10
See a lot of one star reviews in recent months and the reviews are their first ever review. Sounds like one or two of the locals don't like this business and have written fake reviews....or were kicked out for being messy or something....and decided on some fake reviews for revenge.
Definitely didn't notice any rudeness to at least 8 other customers whilst I waited for my freshly cooked dinner.
Crispy batter and piping hot.
There's an area to sit down inside as well

First visit to Newquay for years.
Walking down into town and this gem came up.
Best fish and chips we've had in a long time. Lovely freshly cooked.
Happy young man on the till and a pleasant lady cooking.
I'd recommend here.
