Drove over 30 miles from Camborne to do the ten pin bowling only to find it closed this in spite of it showing as open on Google.Time and fuel costs for nothing and total wasted trip.Badly ran.

Showing its age. Clunky ten pin machinary, sometimes 8 pins or 9 pins rather than 10.

Lovely place for bowling! Only a few lanes so it?s more personal and less crowded.

Booked the bowling and meal beforehand. Meal was really good quality and value for money and a lot of effort had been made in decorating the bowling alley for Halloween ie. a lot of decorations with some being rigged up to the alleys so when you chucked a ball down a skull would slide up and down a wire, pretty impressive considering the scale. Will definitely return

We went for a 4 night break, advised arriving 3 to 4pm, no one there, waited an hour, young guy turned up, said room 3 top of stairs turn right. My wife in 70s has walking difficulties, I'm 75, no help offered, no welcome, nothing, just walked away, entered room, my wife wanted to go home, room tiny, stained carpet, bathroom even worse, I pacified her and said let's go out and sight see. Had dinner in their bar room, they called it diner? Food very good, bed comfortable, had breakfast, it was okay. Went out for day, came back around 4pm, no one there, went to bowling ally, searched for someone, finely found young man entering kitchen, asked if we could use ally, as it said free for guests, he snapped at me, wait till I'm in door, I went back to my wife and waited, finery he appeared, I asked for lights put on, he snapped, you better pay, I pointed out that we were guests, he snapped, pay or else, I said to my wife, just let's go, we walked out, he flew out of the door behind us and started abusing us verbally, using the F word, my wife said, please don't talk to us like that, he just said, F off, we went to our room and packed our cases, I put them in car and waited for someone from management, when they arrived, I told them what happened, they just said, so what do you want me to do, I said apologise or something, he said nothing, so I said I would like a refund of some nights, he said, talk to whoever you booked through, and walked away. If you like somewhere drab and grubby, unfriendly, and are ready for verbal abuse, go there, if not, then find somewhere decent. None of this is made up, it's honest.

Lovely hotel, just a little tired in areas. Very close to the beach & better value than most places nearby. Fab breakfast & bar food.Rooms: Very clean.Nearby activities: There is a 4 lane bowling alley within the hotel, great if the weathers a bit iffy or you need a bit of a break from the sun.Walkability: 5 mins walk (downhill) to Port Beach.Food & drinks: Great breakfast & very fresh & hot. Evening meals in the bar were substantial & hot.

My review is for the restaurant and bowling only.Prior to visiting we called to prebook as we were a party of 8. The lady on the phone was very helpful and helped to organise the best time for us to eat and bowl so that we wouldn't be rushed through our meal.We visted for my son's birthday we bowled and had a meal. The food was delicious and all of our meals came out at the same time. They were all hot, perfectly cooked and were large portions that felt like really good value for money. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a game of bowling and although this was fun we did have a few problems along the way. The machine that loads the pins stuck or knocked pins over when it was loading however staff were on hand and dealt with it quickly so that our game wasn't too disrupted. We have bowled at porth lodge a fair few times over the years, the bowling alley could do with a bit of an update and maintenance however being a slightly outdated bowling alley is part of its charm.

Very poor experience here. We did not feel welcomed at all- the food was okay but the staff where very rude to us. We where rushed to bowling without being offered more drinks or pudding. The bowling was okay if you just want a simple game but the staff where not helpful. There was no baby changing here not very children friendly. The staff where not dressed well at all ( wearing home clothes that where dirty) we where also spoken to very rudely when leaving. I get the impression your only welcome If your a regular here.

Short walk down the road to the beach so ideal!Room was small but we specifically wanted a bath, and we weren't disappointed! Partner is 6 ft 3 and he fitted in perfectly!!Nice complimentary soaps, we also ate there. Food was tasty and not overpricedOnly thing I would suggest is maybe using a gravy boat (as they do with the mornay for the salmon) for the lamb shank....The peas were doing the backstroke and not winning, gravy was a little excessive. But tasty ?

This place is located within the Porth Lodge Hotel, where we visited with a group from the Porth Beach campsite. We had their sunday lunch menu, which consisted of pork, beef, turkey or lamb (supplement) and plum crumble with ice cream. All for £12.70 .2 pints of Cornish Rattler cyder for £9.00Good prices and the food was very good, highly recommended ?

When you're charging £8 per adult and £6 for the kids you at least expect to be able to bowl. After each person (family of 4) took one turn each the lane packed itself in so we were quickly moved to the next lane - fine no issue it happens. But when the next lane ALSO packs in you know its gunna be poor. We had to ask for assistance at least four times before being told to just play as it is. Pins wouldn't come down, some weren't being picked up. We gave up asking for assistance as the staff were too busy watching the football match on the screen and on their mobiles! I get its quiet guys, but come on. We just paid £35 for drinks and one game and it was so pathetic. Wish we hadn't bothered which is such a shame as we like to support local places.

If you are coming here to go bowling don?t bother. The bowling balls kept getting stuck so we had to keep going to the bar to get the guys to help. This took forever to finish a game and took the fun out of it. This place is in desperate need of an upgrade and looks like it hasn?t been touched in over 20 years. The pool tables are slanted and the pool queues are broken. There are benches that collapse when you sit on them. Overall not a good experience
