I was shocked and very disappointed by the rude owner of this cafe who refused to refill my child?s water bottle on a hot sunny day in August - after I had bought three ice creams. He cited it ?not fitting under his tap? as the reason. Unsurprisingly he didn?t offer us a cup of tap water either. Whilst I am aware it is only the law to provide potable water in licensed cafes I am shocked that a beach front cafe in a plastic free town will go as far as refusing a tap water refill for a child. As a local I will not be returning. A kind holiday maker who over heard the conversation came over to offer me some of his family?s water and said they would be boycotting the cafe for the rest of the week as he was so shocked by the owners response.**edited to add** - thank you for your response. However we certainly did not ?charge up to the counter asking for water?. We had been stood in the queue for 5 minutes behind several people and my children and I had even commented (very positively) on the bucket of ice cream served by the lady to the previous customer. As mentioned above, another holiday maker was in the queue ahead of us also. So we were not queue jumping at all! Citing the ?cost? of ?expensive? SW water tap water should not be a factor it would have cost a fraction of a penny for a tap water refill. The bottle was a child?s bottle covered in butterflies and my 8 and 6 year olds stood with me in the queue. In 2023 cafes should offer water refills regardless of it being for a child or not. As your response at the time your reply on here is shortsighted, knee-jerk and rude.

Very poor experience, food tasteless. Owner very rude. Over priced for what the food is. Much nicer places around in porth.

On porth beach with great views. Lovely sandwiches for £5.50 and cream tea/cakes/ice cream. No seats inside but a few tables in the sun.

Popped into the cafe for sandwiches and coffee at lunchtime. The cafe is spotless and the owners are friendly and welcoming. The sandwiches and cakes are made with the freshest ingredients and bread like it used to be! The waffles looked popular too. There is a lovely grassy seating area overlooking the beach, with benches for patrons to enjoy the views. Well worth a visit.

Popped in for a bit to eat and was not expecting the food to be so amazing. Childrens sandwiches also delicious for fussy kids. All produce fresh and tons high quality. Will definitely be visiting again
