Everytime I come back to my birthplace, I have to at least have a decent pasty before I return home. And Nelly?s is a stopping point on the way back. I have tried many pastys over the years and while there are other (few) respectable ones, Nelly?s are the most authentic (proper job). No flaky pastry, proper pasty pastry (a dying skill) and full of the finest chuck steak, turnips (swede), potatoes & onions and plenty of salt?n?pepper seasoning. My Gran would have complimented this pasty. Shame I only bought 10 back with me. They barely made the journey back, devoured by my Son and I on the long 13hr trip back home. Looking forward to our next trip back.

When I?m Cornwall you have to have a pasty. So we went here and got two fresh out the oven and ate them by the River Fowey. They are delicious. Good and peppery as they should be and buttery crisp pastry. Also took some home for family. You much go here if I?m the area. Reminder: they close at 2pm each day. So get yours early.

Fantastic service very polite and the coffee was excellent. The owner who served us was very helpful and brought the coffee to our table outside. Also very reasonably priced.

Ignored on entry by 3 people behind the counter. When one of them finally worked up enough passive enthusiasm to ask me what I wanted I was 10 seconds shy of walking out. Communication carried out with back to me, which is kind of difficult for someone with a hearing impairment. Food and drink grudgingly passed over with a Cornish farewell on exit. (sneer and silence). Not going there again.

Lostwithiel is a lovely little Cornish town, there's not a huge amount of options for food, but Nelly's provides some lovely baked good that are perfect. There's plenty of benches and public spaces near the river to sit and eat your goodies.

Fabulous little deli stocked with lots of local produce, baking starts at 5am, open from 8.30am. Local clotted cream

This has to be the worst pastry I have ever experienced. I think it's probably due to being over-worked. Pastry has to be handled as little as possible to be good. This has been rolled a hundred times and is like shoe leather.

Baking at its best - this place is really worth a visit. Between us we had a steak pasty, 2 small quiches, an Eccles cake and an almond tart and they all tasted amazing. The coffee and milk were good too.

Breakfast pasties/ ham, leek + cheese pies on a Friday are the best. Amazing service and great food. Definitely worth a visit! All the 1 star reviewers must be mentally deficient

just came back from a short break at Lostwithiel, in Cornwall. I came across this place and i had read the reviews. I cannot understand those who gave a bad review....On our last day we went there and ordered a traditional pasty, a cheese pasty, a sausage roll scones and rock cakes for our 6 hour journey home. We didn't eat them until the evening when we arrived. What a delight! I can honestly say these are the best pasties i have ever tried and the shop and staff were great!! There were 2 ladies making fresh pasties while i ordered. The man who served us was really helpful too. The flaky pastry was amazing. The scones too were delicious. The rock cakes were massive and delicious.. I tried other scones and they can be dry and tasteless, but these were perfect, even the next day.. I highly recommend this lovely little bakery while in Cornwall. Its definitely worth a visit. I cant wait to go here again next time!

Probably the worst pastie ever. No flavour, veg was non existent and the small amount of meat inside was clumped together and resembled something I can?t mention here, dry as a bone, zero gravy...

Not always working but at least the Co op does cash back.
