“Everytime I come back to my birthplace, I have to at least have a decent pasty before I return home. And Nelly’s is a stopping point on the way back. I have tried many pastys over the years and while there are other (few) respectable ones, Nelly’s are the most authentic (proper job). No flaky pastry, proper pasty pastry (a dying skill) and full of the finest chuck steak, turnips (swede), potatoes & onions and plenty of salt’n’pepper seasoning. My Gran would have complimented this pasty. Shame I only bought 10 back with me. They barely made the journey back, devoured by my Son and I on the long 13hr trip back home. Looking forward to our next trip back.”
