A great, fully automated petrol station. Card only fuel pumps and cash only jet wash machines.

Had Gold caravan. All working and clean. Helpful staff. No screaming kids. We chose this site as we could see there was nothing for children on website. We wanted (got) a quiet stay with no feet thumping next door. We had a lovely sea view. Buses outside only £2. Surrounding pubs n food great. So why eat on site when there?s so much choice. We did have pizza 1 night. Quick, hot, tasty. Thank you for a relaxing stay x P.s. lovely ladies on reception.

This will be my last visit here as the park seems to have gone really down hill. The entertainment staff looked sooooo tired and exhausted although they kept upto their job very well. The club house was only open 9 til 12 then 4 til 10pm nothing during the day! Also me and others complained about the light not working by the swimming pool outside to light up the steps the while week I was there I got palmed off with excuses and on leaving a week later still no working light although I reported falling down said stairs. The bar closing by 10pm???? What's that about??? The shop had hardly any stock in it the cash machine worked when it wanted to. After last years visit it has really changed there and not for the best

Ok, so we read the reviews and we went with a positive outlook, we checked in, reception was informative with booklets, bus times and staff pointing us in directions. Arrived at the chalet it was a bit drab but we were determined it was just a base for our adventures, it was fusty, asked for fresh bed linen as it seemed like the bedding had been left in a damp environment the bathroom had a lot of damp and mould, furniture from the 90?s and so uncomfortable the bed and couch were like medieval torture racks. Entertainment was ok for a small holiday site and entertainment team were happy and welcoming. bar staff were happy serving pints in what can only be described as milkshake glasses, had a pint of flat lager handed to me in one of these glasses I asked for it to be swapped, bar man argued about it but after some discussion agreed to change it, when exiting the club house at night the rear stairs are not lit at all that?s an accident waiting to happen. back to the chalet fire alarm was apparently going off all day had a phone call about this on one of our days out, we gave the permission to go in and address this but they didn?t have a spare key so our poor neighbours had that noise all day, once back maintenance changed alarm and door lock so they had spare keys. On 2 other separate days had no hot water whatsoever first attempt of getting help reception had closed, none emergency number had phone switched off there seems to be time between 5-6 no one is contactable, in the end we walked to the club house to ask for help to be told to go back and wait for maintenance?.. we don?t want to sit about just waiting!! 2nd no hot water episode, again waited about for maintenance and then when fixed had to wait for the water to heat up to get a shower?.. was such a palaver. The place could be so nice with some TLC but those chalets either need a serious update or bulldozing. Not a complete disaster but don?t think we?d go again which is such a shame. Couple of other suggestions?.. maybe football/rugby on tv in the bar during the day or anything other that repetitive advertising and I know it seemed quiet but we only ate in the restaurant once due to the times we were on site, perhaps the kitchen could serve all day during the week? The meal we had was nice and valve for money so not all negative.

Cheapest fuel I could find in the area. 24hour fuel available paying by card. We bought petrol when the shop was closed.

We arrived at the site and our first impression was that everything seemed nice and in order. The reception staff were helpful and friendly and even though we arrived early our accommodation was ready for us, so far so good. We went to our chalet to be greeted to a very messy and dirty patio area, that looked like it needed a good tidy up. The inside was no better. We was greeted by a horrible smell, which I can only describe as a damp smell and old Chinese food! The place was filthy. There was dirty hand prints all over the windows and food stains. The floor was dirty and needed a good mop. There was coffee stains up the bedroom wall and food stains up the back of the cooker wall. These things were easily wiped so we couldn't understand why they were still there. The kitchen and cupboards smelt of damp and there was mould all up the kitchen blind. The Curtains throughout were hanging off. The sofa bed had seen better days and had stains all over it. The bathroom ceiling and window was covered in mould. The Wardrobes in the bedrooms were dirty and covered in mould. Mould on the skirting boards...the list goes on. The only thing that was done was fresh bed sheets! I went to reception and over heard another family handing there keys back because there accommodation was just as bad as ours. I spoke to the reception staff who sent the manager down straight away. Three cleaners came to the accommodation and re cleaned the whole place while we stood outside. This was a good response by the site but it should never have been needed. The room was cleaned to an acceptable standard, but if I could have found somewhere else to stay for our party of 9, we would have left. Luckily I had an air bed with us to use, as there was no way me or my children were going to sleep on that sofa bed. The main double bed mattress was knackered and you could feel every spring. Safe to say this wasn't a great start to our holiday. We decided to use the club house that night for some food and see what the evening entertainment was like. Initially all seemed good and we ordered food and drink, the kids enjoyed the entertainment. However when the drinks arrived they tasted flat and the beer was awful. I decided to try another drink but that was the same as well. The food came and we was not impressed. Me and my dad had the curry which was like water. We did try and use the pool but the water was freezing so no good for our littlest one. We did have three older children who wanted to try the pool, so we tried to book a space to be told they were fully booked already that day, we then asked how about tomorrow and was told to come back later. Couldn't understand as surely they should know if they have space the next day and so on. Went in the arcade which is the size of a small living room, with machines out of order and the slot machines had no prizes. Because of the above we decided to just use the accommodation/site as a base and not use the facilities at all. This is all a real shame as the site is in such a beautiful location but its let down by its poor standards and run down/poor facilities We didn't expect luxury, but we did expect some level of cleanliness and the facilities to be better. For work I do some maintenance in other Park Holiday sites and they have always looked good, hence why i was happy to book with them, but now I would never stay with Park Holidays again.

Amazing base to explore the area We stayed for a long weekend and didn?t use the car once 2 early morning walks/swims to talland bay (30 min walk) and another 40 min to polperro (we got the bus back) and a trip to looe meant we were not in the chalet much at all Yes the chalets are basic but what do you expect for £200 for a weekend? I certainly wasn?t expecting the ritz ?. Although seem to have an issue with wood lice? However in peak months maybe the price needs adjusting ? We had a few drinks in the club house which was pleasant We we def be back as the location is just perfect We had a dog who had a wonderful stay too and enjoyed the beaches and the lovely large field provided - thank you

The park itself was clean and the views of the sea were lovely. However the pool needs a big overhaul it is so small and really cold (my daughter 3 had her lips starting to turn blue due to the coldness of water) due to the size you need to prebook slots, which is a pain. The arcade had some machines not working and the 2p machines never really had any prizes in. We tried the clubhouse restaurant once, we waited about 45 minutes for ours and my in laws waited over an hour. These were simple meals, my father in law got asked 3 times what he was having, they took 1 order from him and told him 30 minutes later it was no longer available. The caravan itself was fine and comfortable to use for the week. This park has so much potential but it needs some life and energy.

We arrived at 4.05pm after a long 5 hour drive in the wind an rain to be told 'your chalet isnt ready yet, please go and have a drink whilst you wait' reassured it would only be 10-15mins we had to wait we decided to go into the arcade. Within 2 minutes my children were bored as hardly any machines worked an the ones that did were empty. Our chalet wasnt ready until 4.55pm. There was no parking outside the chalet an the carpark was over the field. We did numerous trips in horrendous rain and wind to unload the car into the living room. Once everything was inside we opened the bedroom door to be greeted with the most overpowering smell of urine. Went to inform reception who offered an air purifier to which we declined as i wasnt happy with my children sleeping somewhere that smelt of urine. We were offered another chalet down the other end of the park..again packed up the car, opened the door to our new chalet and walked in on another family! (Who luckily were very understanding) Who told us they had had a similar experience when they arrived. So again we had to go back to reception who couldnt work out how it had happened. We were then given another chalet next to our original one...we asked why we wasnt offered this im the first place as we could of easily just carried our bags next door. It was 3rd time lucky and finally at 7pm we were in...the chalet appeared to be clean, very basic but clean. Wasnt expecting the ritz from a bronze chalet, it was an ok base for exploring cornwall. The wifi in which you have to pay extra for (£12 for 4 days) wasnt great. Would kick you off after 10 or so minutes and when you were connected it was extremely slow. Half of the plug sockets didnt work in the chalet and the ones that did would hum/fizz whilst using them. The shower...it literally burnt you or froze you, there was no inbetween and the hot water would run out after 10 minutes and take over an hour to warm back up again. The walls are paper thin, so no privacy, we could hear what our neighbours were watching on tv and their conversations. My 6 year old was bored each time we were on site as nothing she could do, so we spent our whole time out of the site exploring. Personally i will never be returning to polperro holiday park. My advice...spend a little more and dont waste your money here.

?? Constructive Criticism ??. The park is average, facilities are very basic. A tad disappointed on arrival just after 4.30pm ( check in is advertised as 4pm) after a 5 hour drive to be told our caravan wasn?t ready ? We are due to check out at 10am tomorrow? not sure what would happen if we didn?t until 11am ? We were asked to take a seat and it was finally ready at just after 5pm - I would suggest offering a complimentary tea/coffee/juice if this happens to other guests?. As this would have been a nice gesture for us and would started the holiday off on a better foot. We had a 10 berth -4 bed Gold plus caravan. As soon as we walked in we could smell a ? wet dog? smell, especially in one of the bedrooms- we opened the window to help with the smell. There was and is still extensive seagull poo splattered on the outside of the bathroom windows! The door curtain was dirty and there was mould on the inside of the windows by the curtain tie backs and on the inside of the curtains. We were called on the 2nd day of our holiday by the receptionist to see how we were settling in and we told them about the smell and was told that our unit was a dog free unit??? but she arranged for the caravan to be ? sprayed? with an air freshener of sorts and this did help. We reported that the oven door was not shutting and the outside light was not working - both of these were fixed the next day. Wasps were a huge problem too, not the parks fault but I think the seagull poo on the outside of the caravan honestly didn?t help and basically attracted more wasps than normal. It become near on impossible to have the windows and the door open as we were inundated by the pesky things! One of the children in our group were sick on her bed and clean bedding plus a new quilt/pillows were delivered that same day and the soiled items were taken away. So was that helpful. The park is a good base to explore Looe, which is nice but very busy but i wish that I had picked one of the other parks as this is run by a very small team that all appear to work in different areas which means and appears that they share jobs and responsibilities so ? no one?s seems to be charge? For example the life guide was working behind the bar in the club house in the eve, on duty by the pool during the day and was cleaning/getting a caravan behind us ready for the next guests on another day??. the receptionist was checking guests in one day and was cleaning a caravan nearby the next! The amusements in the club house were mostly empty of prizes when we arrived and that?s how they stayed for a few days until we mentioned to reception - we were advised by a staff member that he had been of for a few days and that no one had been doing this ( his job) whilst he was off so he had returned to what he described as ?a state? Not what we wanted to hear as this is our holiday, that we have been looking toward to all year and paid good money for, so it should be on point for all guests and that answer just flabbergasted us, but he said that he had a list of jobs to do and that he would add that to his big list of jobs! Well?. When we got to the clubhouse that same day/evening of our holiday we were met by a sign on the amusement area ? closed due to a technical problem? Our children were very disappointed to say the least! The very small play area outside was in total darkness by 8pm ish, and no outside lights were switched on???? by Day 5/evening of our holiday I approached the bar staff and asked if the outside lights could be switched on ? As many parents were using their mobile phones to shine in the play area so the kids could play some what safely??the lights were turned on and I was told that basically they have been forgotten to be switched on??? And the lights have now stayed on ? during the daytime too! ? Looks like someone has forgotten to turn them off now ! Twice in one week the Wi-Fi disconnected during the link up bingo games that we had paid for so instead of being in with a chance of winning 2-5k we only had a chance of winning £45-£120 so that was also disappointing, mayb

Silver Chalet was the most disgustingly filthy accommodation we have ever stayed in. Couch (fixed as a bodged job) and fridge (replaced but told no one cooks in the chalets) not working and sink and shower both overflowed whenever used. Didn?t look like it had been cleaned in some time. Lampshades and curtains covered on dust and mould and grime in every room. Ongoing issue with a foul smell from kitchen sink. Only response from reception was a reclean which actually never happened. Had we not travelled 9 hours we would have turned around day 1 and gone home. Having spent £450 on 3 nights cheap and cheerful would have been welcome but this was just beyond an acceptable level of dirtiness and attention. I did become an expert wasp killer as we were close to the overflowing blue bins and had probably 30 flying in and around the windows. Never again nor would I recommend. Cornwall is stunning and Polperro, Looe etc are such beautiful places but failed to redeem the worst resort and accommodation we have been to. Unlike others we didn?t experience the entertainment or shop onsite but staff were pleasant enough but failed to do anything when notified about our concerns. Will contact head office but not sure they care as the principle focus of the site is selling holiday homes as opposed to looking after people on the site.

We booked 4 nights in a bronze chalet. We weren?t sure what to expect upon arrival as we had read reviews of varying quality prior to booking but decided to take a chance. We were pleasantly surprised to find the chalet was clean, a bit dated (the bathroom taken straight from the 1980s), but nevertheless clean. The bed was very comfortable and there was a handy sofa bed in the living area. Everything worked as it should. We were pleased to find a bath rather than a shower as we had been unable to find out from the website what we would be getting. It was a big bath in lovely 70s peach and great for a soak after a long day sight seeing. The holiday took a dramatic turn on the second night when some kids put the bedroom window through with a football, sending glass all over the bed and the carpet. As it was 9pm, reception was closed and annoyingly the out of hours emergency mobile number was out of service. This meant I had to traipse up to the clubroom where everyone was enjoying the bingo and push through to the bar to get some help. At this point I wasn?t in the best of moods but thankfully, the chap behind the bar realised the situation was serious and soon got hold of the manager who promised someone would come to our chalet as soon as possible. I cannot fault the way the staff handled this. A maintenance man turned up along with a young lady called Amanda who seeing the damage was honest enough to tell us it would take two to three weeks to get the window replaced at this time of year! She offered us a free upgrade to a silver chalet there and then. So five minutes later we were packing our gear into the car and moving to a bigger better chalet. We couldn?t have asked for a btter response. Shame the silver chalet only had a shower though. As to the camp itself, it is a small, quiet place, best suited to families with young children or older couples. A tip if you are wanting to eat breakfast in the restaurant, don?t turn up at 9am when it opens as they don?t seem to have anything ready cooked at that time. We ordered two sausage sandwiches at 9 and we got them 45 minutes later, which was far from acceptable as we were the only diners in there when we ordered. Yet two days earlier we ordered full breakfasts at 11 am and got them within ten minutes. The food was hot and tasty though and the coffee was very nice. The camp appeared to be well maintained with the grass being cut almost daily. There are some lovely views from the camp down to the sea (when it?s not foggy!) and the camp is literally two minutes from Polperro by car. Tip- the car park in Polperro is cash only and prices start at a minimum of three hours for £6. There is a handy bus service that stops right outside the camp though if you don?t want to take the car. Overall, we were satisfied with the facilities, it was expensive for four nights but it was Cornwall in August so only to be expected and better value than some others we looked at. I am glad we ignored the negative reviews when we booked as we had a food experience and would recommend this park for those wanting a break somewhere quiet and chilled. The Jubilee Inn in nearby Pelynt does great food by the way if you are looking to eat in a cosy traditional pub with no loud music or big TVs.

Great to fill up your car..Good facilities to clean your car..
