just spent 8 days in there, food was great as were most staff. However I came out with a dreadful infection due to not being washed properly. I also hated that African men were employed at night to take care of personal needs of elderly ladies. It wouldnt be my first choice of hospital but its extremely clean and the proper nursing staff wonderful.

Beware of the visiting times on Oak wards website, it says 1100-2000 Sat, Sun & Bank Holidays, this is wrong, its the same as weekdays as we found out when we visited on Saturday, also, only two visitors per patient at any one time. May I suggest the website is updated to avoid unnecessary journeys and embarrassment for visiting family.

Beware if you have elderly relatives, they dump them home without care packages in place. All they provide is an interim service for 2 weeks which comprises of three visits a day by people not trained in care work or nursing, then they are left to their own devices. No one even turned up to change dressings until we complained. Our relative is not mobile and has to be got out of bed, taken to the toilet and washed, and her meals made for her. The NHS think it's quite acceptable to ask her to wet herself while awaiting a person to get her out of bed anytime between 9 and 11am, after putting her to bed at 5-7pm! Luckily we are in a position to provide extra care for her, but we would not be able to if we were not self employed. It is totally unacceptable to treat older people in this undignified and disrespectful way.

Had to go to Liskeard hospital minor injuries unit yesterday?. The place was very quiet and was seen very quickly.The staff were all very nice, helpful and friendly.Thank you very much for the great service and sorting my leg out for me.

Some of the nursing staff think there doctors by just cutting medication prescriptions in half as they feel fit when patients and there doctors have said they need that set AmountAlso some of the nurses are rude and have no compassion for visitors or patients also gave my uncle oxygen when he didn?t need it in order to make him cough to cause him discomfortWas in my opinion trying to get him to leaveI feel sorry for anyone going here good luck

Huge thanks to everyone at Liskeard MIU this morning, especially Amy who was the nurse in charge of my care. I was seen immediately on entering the unit and my care was exemplary the whole time I was there. 90 minutes start to finish including X-rays. Every single person I saw was lovely, friendly and professional. You?re doing a great job - all of you and many thanks for my care today.

First nurse I saw in the minor injuries unit was lovely! She told me to come back as soon as my injury got worse so I did the next day. Was a different nurse and she was absolutely horrible, didn't wear any gloves. Didn't give me a warning before jabbing me in the hand. I suffer with severe anxiety, Therefore needed my parent with me and she would not allow her in. She was asking me loads of questions that I didn't know the answers too and couldn't answer due to me having a panic attack caused by her. I was telling her to just let my mum in with me so she can help answer the questions and she basically fobbed me off and said I was fine. I don't think I've ever heard a worse experience with a nurse. Completely messed up my day as I now cannot stop shaking . I always believed that they were there to help and reassure you, obviously not. I understand that times are hard but there's no need to be rude.However, the receptionist lady was very lovely and obviously works very hard. I take my hat off to her

Took someone for an appointment with Podiatry Dept on 5/4/23........A totally wonderful experience.All Staff very friendly and totally professional.Special thanks to Becky Derry and Josie for their incredible patience, empathy, gentleness and general kindness.A quality standard of care all round. Couldn't thank them enough!!

Small clean hospital. Very friendly, helpful staff and nurses. Lidls near the entrance to car park. Was quite difficult to park in the car park, lots of cars parked out of the bays along the road. Small friends of hospital shop but was shut.
