Took a while to get here. Lots of winding roads. Worth the visit. Quaint pub in fabulous location.

I'd give an extra star for all the staff, especially Lou, who is absolutely amazing. Immaculate fresh rooms, huge bed, comfortably furnished. Outstanding location. Great breakfast cooked to order and brilliant pizza nights.Outstanding service. Nothing is too much trouble.Would definitely recommend and hope to visit again next year

The worst location and such a nuisance to get to. The photos of the accommodation does not look like the rooms. The shower is tiny. It is a child sized door you have to get through. The rooms were just ok, squeaky floor boards and no option for food unless they are hosting an event. Breakfast, they give you a form to fill out asking what you want, but it?s the same thing. Don?t bother asking for extras as you?re met with ? I have to see my stock.? Really poor service. On arrival you get offered a drink, thinking aw how lovely it?s a free drink maybe, nope it?s definitely added to the bill at the end. Please don?t be fooled by the ?lovely reviews? as I genuinely feel they are not genuine. Parking is NOT available and you have to pay per day to park on the beach however, you can?t park on the beach overnight, so then you have to find somewhere else to go. For £135 per night, for ALL room types regardless of size and number of occupants. It isn?t worth it at all. The host Lou seems to make efforts in making her guests comfortable but is very patronising and makes you feel really small and if you try and complain, she comes back very defensive and tries to resolve with the least amount of effort. Definitely wouldn?t recommend or book here ever again.Rooms: Not with the £135Food & drinks: Nothing available, kitchen has been closed for ages. Breakfast you only get given what is given, no extras allowed!Noteworthy details: Horrible single track road to get there. Paid parking on the beach, but not permitted to park on beach overnight?

Second visit in a week. Pizza night! The pizza was amazing, we all agreed better then many Italian restaurants we've been too. Staff sofriendly and accommodating, locals lovely. Beer good, and had a canny bottle of red too. A local pub doing its best in difficult times and fully appreciated. Will definitely return. Many thanks...from Northumberland.

Wonderful local pub which is clearly the hub of the tiny picturesque area! The amazing landlady even helped us out to get accommodation as she knew the land owner. So very kind to do. Locals very chatty and pleasant. Food looked and smelt delicious but we had eaten prior to arrival sadly.

What a sh1tshow Local pub - closed on a Saturday lunchtime We had been swimming as group and came out pub shut yet again. Clearly the manager does not care - this would appear to a regular occurrence according to the villagers

Right on the beach with the sound of the waves.Room clean with plenty of spaces.Lu was helpful kind always greeting you with a smile.Loved the 3 nights spent there. ????

Honestly not the best. We tried to visit a week before, to find the doors closed up. This was 1pm on a Saturday afternoon!!? Despite online and their company facebook site saying open! This seems to be regular. The current manager only seems to open when she feels like it. We did return, to be told they?re only serving pizzas. Which were pretty standard, absolutely not worth the £12.50 I paid for it! Staff seem miserable and the manager just rude. Would not recommend visiting. We will be taking our custom to a much better restaurant/inn we found nearby!

We were staying locally and thought it would be good to get a takeaway, we ordered a pepperoni pizza and was shocked by the cost at £11.50 but accepted it as we are on holiday, the next night we ordered 3 portions of chips to take away and couldn?t believe it when we came to pay as these were £5 a portion! and it was a very small portion! I appreciate that the cost of things have increased but £5 for chips is ridiculous, I think they are charging whatever they like as there is no where else to eat in Porthallow so if you don?t want to drive you have no option. We will not be visiting again with those prices.
