Today?s carvery was absolutely delicious. We go to many carvery?s from all over Cornwall (Norway inn, fox and hound, shire in to name a few) I have to say today?s carvery was definitely the best one yet! The meats (gammon turkey and beef were cooked beautifully, the vegetables were fresh - they tasted delicious, the roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the mash potatoes were also perfectly mashed and soo creamy! Not to mention their show stopper giant homemade Yorkshire puddings! As for the gravy what can I say? the gravy was well balanced not too thick and not too watery. It had the perfect consistency with ample seasoning! The whole carvery was full of flavour and incredibly moorish! Prices are fair and accommodating to couples, families and social gatherings. Well worth a visit! Pre booking advised though!Food & drinks: Today?s carvery was absolutely delicious. Me and my girlfriend came to stay for a weekend in Hayle and stopped in for a drink and really enjoyed our visit. Phoebe and chris was really welcoming and looked after us well, we even ended up staying for their pub quiz. Highly recommended if you are passing the area.

Decor was halfway between trendy and antique, makes you a tad confused at to what year you are currently in never mind the space, but it grows on you like a good friends questionable redecoration efforts,Asked if Thatchers Katy was available, was told they had never heard of it, perhaps this is for the best as it means more for me on the shelves, surprised and apprehensive, I opted for their draft cider, being related to my main squeeze Katy, I took a chance on their relative, an unfortunate event soon unfolded...The worst cider I've ever consumed in my entire 25 years of existence, absolutely no carbonation nor visual appeal, the taste I can only describe as similar to that of a colonoscopy bag concoction a homeless person hands you at 3am on a Tuesday and the colour reminded me of a geriatrics number 1, and not number 1 favourite let's say, reminiscent of a drink you left behind a curtain and discovered a week later,This is the type of beverage you would only happily consume at rock bottom simply to enthusiastically alleviate the pain of your entire life going down the drain, of which I suspect this was brewed or at least siphoned from, if it were me I would be upfront and name it septic sider, although I don't think alliteration will aid in sales however I am doubtful this concoction is still available in this described formation,Ultimately this was not the fault of the pub, but the producers of that foul liquid, a witches failed brew, an ancient beverage, maybe a mishap of a time machine experiment, sending liquid from pubs of olde, you know, the first ever pubs envisioned, while they were still figuring out drinks beyond ale prototype's, regardless, I'm sure this has been rectified,I previously scoffed at the roast prices whilst under the influence of this wicked potion, as I was taken back to the times of peasantry before shillings and such, but I now say, with clarity, that the prices are excellent, as is the food, as I was informed by my close friends with many years of culinary experience in the industry and who's tastes I trust much better than my own.To close, apologies to the staff for my previous hostility, the drink has to go and Katy must take its place on the throne, beyond that, great pub, patrons and new patrons enjoy yourself! cheers!Rooms: I've only been in the living room where they sell the drinks and food, being local, I have not needed to participate in a sleepover and spin the bottle has never been my thing, especially when my vision is already rotating.Nearby activities: You can withdraw cash nearby for extracurricular activities if you are so inclined, although depending on some activities you may want to think twice, lest you face the wrath of loathing from peers and punishment from security. You can also feast upon kebab and enjoy kebab related accessories once you achieve that classic level of intoxication and did not have the foresight to partake in a delicious pub meal.Safety: Don't order THE drink and you will be very safe.Security is also present on particular days where mania is likely to descend upon the drunkards, and the security employees are very good at securing, having been asked to leave on one occasion, I definitely didn't feel as if I could negotiate nor do battle, not that I would even consider the latter as that would be extremely dumb in any context.Walkability: You can indeed walk around this pub, to it, and from it also. 10/10 on walkability, although I wouldn't advise running from a risk and reputation perspective,As a side note, if you can't walk you can still enter and enjoy the facilities so it is accessible for those with mobility issues from what I can tell, unsure about the bathroom facilities so do inquire beforehand if you are concerned about that.Food & drinks: Food, excellent! THE drink? refer to review, other drinks? As expected, great!Noteworthy details: Don't order THE drink, order other drinks and food
