Had a lovely weekend end here. Amazing location, with beautiful views I've the river. Really friendly staff at breakfast and in the bar. Great atmosphere in a great inn with great ale . Must try the gin & brandy distilled on the premises! The hotel is as expected for a 400+ year old, quirky corridors but room was great, bed very comfortable and great bathroom.Would give 5 for service but although we booked table in evening we had to wait as had local walk-ins. Great as locals love it but didn't actually reserve table for residents. However, it did give us time to try the local spirits.Well worth a visit - Thankyou to all staff who made us so welcome.

Fantastic location. Undergoing improvements which looked very promising. It's been a favourite spot to visit for a great view for a lot of years.

Superb Sunday lunch, the roast beef was to die for and the place itself was fascinating. So much history, you could spend days looking around it.

I never stayed here, I stopped a short way up the road from the the Inn, but I called in for a drink on the Friday i arrived in Bodinnick, and after talking to the Guys behind the bar booked in for a Sunday lunch,I had the Beef Brisket and my partner had Pork, (pic is a large plate and under the Yorkshire is a great big piece of meat) . the food looked the business and tasted it too, the meat just melted in your mouth, their was plenty to eat on the plate, really impressed we were, if you go you need to book, every one there was really friendly, if your just there for a drink, go upstairs on to the balcony and sit looking across to Fowey in the sunshine, highly recommended. ?

Just had the best Sunday roast I have ever had in a pub. Huge potions (pork belly) with good crackling, great gravy, and all round perfect veg and Yorkshire pudding. Crumble was good too.

This is a vary nice place to stay. Owner is a Jack of all trades. He has a shop distilling gin next door. He?s a brilliant chef. And goes out of his way to help. Parking is a issue as it?s up a VERY steep hill with limited spaces. We loved it and would definitely go again.Food & drinks: Owner chef is amazing

Close enough to Fowey to walk and enjoy the town, yet perfectly far enough away to feel like you?re in a timeless corner of Southern Cornwall. The hotel is a diamond, full of quintessential charm and hospitality. The staff, all born & bred locals to Bodinnick, go above and beyond, and it is clear they sincerely and genuinely care about the village and the place they work! The building is old and querky, but clean, smart, very comfortable & functional. The hot water in the showers in our room was perfect after a long day walking and exploring. We were able to park and unload with ease upon arrival and check in was a breeze. The highlight of our stay was the bar and restaurant - it was so friendly, easy going and welcoming. The bar serves local beers, ale & cider and the wine list was comprehensive. Next door to the main bar was an in-house microbrewery and shop which sold spirits brewed on-site alongside hand crafted souvenirs. Our overriding memory was that we don?t recall seeing anyone look at a mobile phone in the bar during our stay, such was the positive atmosphere in the bar. So refreshing. I highly recommend staying for more than one night in order to kick back and enjoy the change of pace and chat with the staff, who are a compliment to the pub & hotel. The Old Ferry is full of history, warmth and it?s quality shines through. We truly hope we are able to return again soon. Thank you.

We had an amazing long weekend stay, the staff were fantastic and their chef even baked a delicious chocolate birthday cake for our visit. The menu offered perfectly scrumptious food , which as residents we enjoyed in the dedicated lounge. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub with panoramic views across Fowey harbour and paddle boarding up the river to spot the wonderful variety of wildlife. The town was a really interesting place to explore and the self drive boat trips are highly recommended. Overall, if you?re looking for a fabulous mini break this is it.

Just got back from a lovely weekend away stay at this quirky, 16th century Inn.Staff were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The food was plentiful and delicious - very good value for money. We booked a room overlooking the river with stunning views of Fowey - worth paying the extra!Reading other reviews mentioning some tired areas, yes there may be, however nothing a lick of paint on the skirting wouldn't resolve.Overall The Old Ferry Inn is certainly worth a visit ?.Rooms: Clean and cosy with a great range of quality beverages.Walkability: Ideal location to stay to visit multiple resorts, particularly Fowey and Polruan.Food & drinks: Delicious and very good value for money.

stayed over one night and the hotel was very good , the standard of our room was good with plenty of space. staff who we spoke to were very friendly overall excellent service by the team, had an evening meal that was very good and breakfast next morning was spot on. close to Fowey only thing to consider is the ferry time as these change depending on time of year. parking was available. i would recommend. my only criticism is allowing dogs into the dining room, maybe a separate area if you want to take a dog in there. i own two dogs but would never take them where people are eating

Booked for overnight stay after long walk with dog. The lady who ?welcomed? us couldn?t really raise one - possibly end of season fatigue??? and then my heart sank as we were taken up the filthy looking carpet and decrepit walls to our creaky old room. After I had dealt with a swarm of huge flies I opened the old mouldy window onto the road, but my heart then lifted at the sight of lovely crisp clean sheets, with complimentary pillow spray and dog bed. The shower was good and everything was fine there. As soon as possible we went to sit on the deck with a drink. The special stunning view was rather spoilt by wiffs of chemical septic tank and the shabby unattractive unkempt look of the seating and general area of the lower decks. The food at supper was totally reasonable - the portions were huge (between us we tried mussels, sausages and the special of ribs and wings) In conclusion this place could be stunning if it had a major investment and refurbishment. / or even some basic TLC . It is very shabby, old fashioned and a bit smelly to be honest. The location is very special and to end on a positive note the breakfast was excellent and the waitresses were lovely. But thank goodness it was a special offer and only one night.
