In this pub, we experienced a rip in the space-time continuum!
My expensive pizza arrived and the toppings were disappointingly scant, with tiny flecks of pepper and mushroom. The menu stated asparagus as one of the toppings but there was none. I mentioned it to my friends, who also failed to spot any asparagus. Politely, I asked the timid young waitress about the missing asparagus. She took my pizza away. The pub was not busy, yet it was 25 minutes before she returned, with the pizza completely unchanged, at which point the rest of my table had already finished their food. As the waitress explained in an embarrassed tone, the chef said the asparagus IS DEFINITELY on the pizza, you just need to LOOK FOR IT. She then put the now cold (still asparagus-free) pizza back in front of me. I couldn't see the asparagus. I couldn't taste it either. But apparently it was THERE! Clearly, the asparagus in question (wherever it was) is the John Cena of the vegetable world! We all burst out laughing at the strangeness of the situation, which was weirdly disconcerting yet hilarious. I know my friends will be shoehorning invisible asparagus jokes into our conversations for years to come. Thank you for giving us a good laugh - albeit an expensive one, reliant on gaslighting.

Went in for some food and drinks to treat ourselves, while being here we could over hear staff members gossiping and degrading another staff member, who we assume was not there while this itself is a bad look for a business to then see the manager come and get involved is disgraceful to see if this is the kind of staff this business hires we will not return and will be informing everyone we know to avoid this establishment. Poor hiring and poor management needs an overhaul of staff

What horrible staff stood around with the manager. Talking about another member of staff in a derogatory manner. The fact the manager joined in was disturbing. Such a shame as the food and drinks are fantastic the view is incredible. Then to lower the tone by treating staff poorly. This isn't the first time I've visited when the staff have been talking disgustingly about other staff members. Really was turned off to the place by the way staff are treated

Nice modern style pub. Great views of the river when sitting outside. The problem with Fowey is car parking.

Have been here many times over the last few years, food is great, & coffee and drinks are always great. I would recommend coming here if you want decent coffee/drink and lunch with wonderful views over the estuary. Do be aware of the gulls if you sit outside.
Love the mural in the hallway from the high street into the pub too!

Very Expensive for very average food.
We had the fish & Chips which cost £17 each. Just a few chips and the large fish portions were both tiny. We did complain and the waitress provided another piece of fish but this was awkward and shouldn?t happen. Our plate had more mushy peas than fish and the batter wasn?t crispy as expected. If it was £8.00 I probably wouldn?t have complained but £17 can only be justified if good quality food is produced.

As a local l have visited the Galleon for dinner many times and had a positive experience. I ordered fish and chips large portion last night and was given a child size plate and the smallest portion of fish and chips l have ever seen. Staff not helpful or seemed interested. Was begrudgingly given another small piece of fish on a side plate to resolve the issue! When the holiday makers have left and it?s quiet you have lost a loyal customer. Come on Galleon you can and have done better!!!
