Well established hotel under some restoration. Newly finished car park and only 15 minutes walk to town. Great service. Would return.

Fantastic hotel, lovely rooms and even better staff. Stayed for three nights on business but will return for a holiday sometime soon.

Restaurant review. Long wait for food over an hour. Burger was full of gristle so left it. More interested in residents and parties than visitors. Shame it used to be much better.

We booked here on the pretense that the new refurb would of given the hotel more of an atmosphere however we were very wrong. The restaurant is still super dated and understaffed.
When we finally managed to order, much of the menu was unavailable. My friend with a severe allergy asked on numerous occasions whether the soup contained onion and was reassured they would check...even though the waitress had made the kitchen aware it still appeared in front of her when starters arrived. Luckily we doubled checked and it was quickly removed. This could of been fatal.
We waited 40 minutes for a bottle of wine.
Due to mis communication between members of staff when it came to paying the bill the only word suitable is incompetence.
After settling a 400+ bill we moved to the lounge area to order another bottle of wine as we were celebrating a birthday, we sat for another 20 minutes waiting for said bottle. When my friend politely asked if it would be any longer the general manager Charlie rudely responded 'it will be as long as it takes'. As a group of local ladies with many connections in the community this is not acceptable customer service.
Finally we asked to speak with the general manager which unfortunately turned out to be Charlie he accused my friend of being rude when asking for the wine. She is far from rude and I feel like he was clutching at straws. He proceeded to say it would be our last drink at the hotel.
Whilst we suffered a negative experience I will commend the younger female members of staff. One waitress and bar member in particular unfortunately we didn't get there names.
The hotel still has a long way to go before it meets the standards of it's sister hotels and none of us will be returning in a hurry.

This review is only about the restaurant.
Our table was booked for 18.30 but was not ready so we went to the bar for a drink. Bar service was very slow.
Our table was ready for us nearly an hour late.
Our order was taken promptly and the food was good.
Not offered a steak knife or condiments.
One meal ( a chicken burger) failed to arrive with no explanation. When we asked the waitress after 10-15 minutes she said there had been a problem with our ticket and the food was being plated.
We noted a member of the kitchen staff come out to speak to other guests but still the meal did not arrive. Had to ask for a drink for our friend as she waited while we ate but the staff seemed disinterested although one eventually appeared.
The missing meal was obviously not seen as important as we were still kept waiting with no explanation.
Eventually it arrived but we had all almost finished so our friend declined it.
On paying the bill the waitress seemed to have trouble with the technology. I was asked to pay one price for my meal but when I asked for a receipt I discovered that the actual cost of my meal was £8 less than I had originally been told.

Last evening, I arrived as part of a small group of friends for an evening meal. Table had been booked for half past six. After waiting for fifteen minutes to get a drink, (bar was very busy and appeared to be only one member of staff manning it), I sat down with friends. At seven fifteen, the waitress was asked if our table was ready. We were shown to our table and menus were given. I was the second person to give my order out of the seven friends. There was a long wait before the meals arrived - minus my meal. After waiting about ten minutes, my friend reminded the waitress that I was still waiting. A further ten to fifteen minutes passed and eventually she returned to say there had been a mix up with the orders in the kitchen. (How, when everyone else got their food)? My friend suggested that perhaps they could offer me a complimentary drink due to the wait, which I received, (a double measure), about ten minutes later. By now my friends had almost finished their meals. Another message came from the kitchen to say, that my meal was being plated up and would be there soon. After about ten more minutes I went to the bar to cancel my order as my friends had all finished. I was told it was coming and the waitress duly presented it at the table. I told her that I had just cancelled the order as I had come out to eat with my friends and would now be the only one eating. She said she would take it off the bill. I didn't wish her to do this and therefore, refused the meal saying I would just have a dessert. About twenty minutes later the dessert menu arrived. Three of us choosing to have desserts and others having coffee. Again, there was a long wait. The dessert I had was very nice, but didn't make up for the missed meal. My assessment of the situation was that there were not enough staff on duty. Firstly, covering the bar, where the staff member was doing his level best, but couldn't keep up with the volume of customers. There appeared to be just, two waitresses who were unable to cope with the orders for food and drinks. Perhaps there weren't enough staff in the kitchen to fulfil the orders? One of the kitchen staff had time to come out to the dining area and have a chat with other staff, while I was still waiting for my food. I don't know what the problem was, but it was very disappointing. I think in general my friends enjoyed their food, but the waiting times were unacceptable. I hope that these things can be sorted out as I was very disappointed.
Noteworthy details: Not enough staff. Poor service.

Had lunch today at the hotel (locals) the refurbishment is looking lovely and our food was very delicious which made up for the poor service from start to finish. Not one smile from anyone and extremely slow. Lacking communication and it was challenging to get things right. I booked a table in which I had to give card details to secure but it wasn't even reserved on arrival. I would highly recommend the food but the service was very much a let down

We came here to celebrate my partners 21st birthday, the staff has been absolutely lovely, we received free wine as a gift from the team here, as they knew the circumstances of our stay. The only thing that stops it from being complete top marks is the elevator was out of order, as was the hot-tub and the tv in our room had no channels and i couldn?t seem to connect it to the internet. Except those few picky things, this was an absolutely amazing stay with a beautiful view out to the sea. Food was absolutely lovely and the service was great. Would definitely stay again and suggest to my friends

Back in local hands and being given a lot of TLC. Works ongoing but didn?t diminish a great stay. Wonderful staff who were always available to help, especially when I fell on the beach they guided me to local hospital. On return they were very supportive, had deferred our restaurant reservation and offered a complimentary drink to cheer us up. Great location with plenty of sea views. Rooms very cosy. Chef and his team produced locally sourced meals which were gratefully received. Spa treatment was most welcome and the surprise birthday cake, requested by my hubby and baked by chef was the icing on a lovely celebration weekend. Thank you???
Rooms: Sea view was lovely. Charming Large ensuite. Additional heater provided, old building with high ceilings but we didn?t need it. Well stocked beverage tray. Plenty of storage. Bed very comfy.
Nearby activities: Beach. SW coastpath. Pendennis Castle. Shops.
Walkability: 2 minutes to beach. About 10 minutes to town.
Food & drinks: Bar and restaurant meals. Room service. Varied locally sourced menu. Cold buffet breakfast and hot to order.
Noteworthy details: Gym, swimming pool, sauna and spa.

We stayed here Valentines weekend 2025 and really enjoyed our stay. We had a complimentary upgrade to a fourth floor stunning sea view room which was enormous and well appointed. The staff were excellent and breakfast was good too. The current owners also have The Greenbank on the other side of town where we normally stay and if that is their precedent, then the renovation of The Falmouth will be superb. There are a few niggles that I expect will be sorted during the renovation. The car park is currently a building site and it?s a bit of a free for all, but there is plenty of unrestricted parking nearby if no spaces are available. Overall, we were really impressed with the hotel and as an admirer of Victorian buildings, I am so heartened that the hotel is going to get the renovation it deserves, rather than being demolished to make room for more soulless apartments that will inevitably be left empty for the majority of the year. We?ll certainly be back.

Stayed here a couple of nights end January 2025 and from arrival to departure everything was perfect. From the reception staff to the waiters and waitresses all were very helpful, polite and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.
Food & drinks: The food and drink from breakfast to evening meal was just delicious.
