Great equipment, super instructor and instruction. We had two days private guiding with Ben and were able to improve our knowledge and skills no end while enjoying the beauty of the south and north coasts of Cornwall (and seals, caves, gullies etc). Even managed a bit of surfing at the end

Really great team who will take you to most appropriate locations depending on prevailing conditions and what is the defined skills that will be the focus of the day.Not just a procession round the coast, they look to build confidence and your skillset through demonstration and experience.I just completed 5 day Intermediate course, and there were several experienced kayakers taking part looking to improve. I felt supported and challenged throughout the trip in a variety of conditions which we had defined as a group at start of the 1st day, which is what I was looking for.Can not recommend their courses highly enough. James and Geoff both greater leaders, and would always put themselves out to accommodate requests.In years of visiting Cornwall and being on the sea as a youngster, I had never seen a large tuna leaping out of the water. Plenty of seals around too. Good kit & kayaks. Great course.

Very knowledgeable, capable & humorous coaches & assistants, all eager to share their skills and happy to tailor teaching to individual requirements. High quality boats and kit. Honestly this was a absolute blast! It was a wonderful experience being able to safely traverse th ocean. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable though the waves prevented my husband and I from hearing him all of the time.Going through the different caves and experiencing it all with my husband was so much fun. I felt like it brought us both together a bit as we had to work together to navigate the kayak. I'd also like to say a massive thank you to the guys for being mindful of my disability and giving us a kayak that was more suited to me.I would do this activity again in a heartbeat!

I spent a week with SKC on their explore Cornwall expedition. Id had a few years off paddling and wanted to gradually build up my skills and confidence and explore a new part of the UK, and the team delivered an excellent week. We had some excellent days exploring different parts of the coastline, making the most of days with/despite any weather conditions. Each day I was pushed a little out my comfort zone but in a controlled manner that made we want to learn and explore more. It was hard work, challenging in places but great fun and exactly what I needed to get my mojo back. Ill definitely be back!

James was a fantastic instructor who tailored the course to the group based on what we each said our desired outcomes were, and the challenging weather conditions. We had a great mix of skills development when the winds were strong on day 1, staying close in the marina; followed by a longer day out putting the skills into practice on day 2 when the conditions were safe for it. Very knowledgeable, supportive, and a good laugh. Would definitely recommend.

Can only but recommend Sea Kayaking Cornwall. I'm sure all of the instructors are great but Geoff was superb from start to finish. We booked a bespoke course for two for the day so it was just us and an instructor. We parked at the farm where they are based and were offered tea/coffee. Started the course learning about how the weather impacts kayaking and how we would plan a trip. We then got to know our kayaks and kitted up. The kayaks, wetsuits, rash vests and jackets provided were clean and in good condition. We loaded up and set off for the beach. I'll admit I didn't find it easy to begin with but Geoff was very patient and reassuring. He balanced perfectly the different needs in the group. We were able to go in and out of the rocks, stopped for a rest and lunch on a beach. Its a long day if you're not used to that kind of exercise but would highly recommend. Geoff was very knowledgeable, experienced and made us feel safe at all times.

our family had a three day tour with Shaun, Geoff and their team. we could not have been happier with the flexibility, friendliness skill levels and professionalism shown to us. Not only did the tour exceed our expectations, we also learned some valuable rescue skills. we would recommend these guys every day of the week.

I just completed a 5 day advanced course with SKC - mostly led by James, but also supported by Geoff. We covered lots of ground (sea?) and practiced loads of rescue techniques, incident scenarios and leadership situations. The team at SDK are excellent and I thoroughly recommend them.

I had a a one to one all day session with James. I had booked to learn to roll my kayak. As a nervous student James had clearly thought through in detail a number of different activities to teach me the component parts of the roll. Having had a course with him before I knew he would be very thoughtful about instructing me. When some of the activities didnt work for me, he had an alternative that did work. He was persistent, even when I was really struggling. As the day progressed things began to click, we both sensed the point that this happened, it made me really pleased to be able to see the obvious pleasure that gave James as well.It is not easy doing a one on one for a particular skill, James got me to a stage where I have a roll, I need to practice it, but I am more than aware where if I dont make it the reasons why.My general kayaking confidence as well as my rolling are entirely different and a quantam leap better than they were at the start of the day.I cannot recommend SKC and James particularly enough, thank you so very much.

I have recently completed a 2 day intromediate course with SKC. Our instructor, James, proved to be very knowledgeable, humorous and patient. We learnt a lot of new skills and new techniques which will help us to safely explore the sea.The team at SKC is great and I would fully recommend anyone who wants to get into sea kayaking or wants to improve their existing skills to give them a try and they definitely won't regret it.Thank you James and Geoff.

Brilliant Advanced Course; I'm just back from another great few days on the advanced course with Shaun, Geoff and Paul. Everytime you spend time with SKC you build knowledge and skills at a pace that works for you with great intuitive coaching. Day 1 on rescues with Geoff to brush off your skills, planning and journeying with skills and leadership day 2 and surf day 3. Although I'm fairly paddle proficient, surf is not my thing, and certainly not advanced but Shaun and Paul were great, with just the right support at the right moment you can still be smiling after a very wet day. (Thanks to Julie too!) This year will be my 3rd year on the Kefalonia expedition and looking forward to the Women's symposium too. Can't wait to get back. Thanks guys!
