Visited on Monday 25th September. The place was closed. No signs in the car park (other than it was empty) or on the doors. Other people came in after us and were also bemused. Checked website and no info there other than that they were open! Called their phone number, said it was being diverted then cut off..Bizarre. Had been looking forward to lunch overlooking the sea but out of luck and on reading the recent reviews looks like we had a lucky escape.

Visited for an evening meal so I cannot comment on accommodation.We enjoyed some good, basic fayre, Beef Lasagne, and Macaroni Cheese, seated at a window table which added to the experience particularly as the sun went down.This was a mid-September, out of season visit, so it was pretty quiet and it's likely to be much busier at the height of the holiday season.The Pub is "dog friendly," and on our visit, we were the exception in not having a dog with us. I was perfectly happy with this but just as well to be aware that this is a popular venue with dog owners.

We arrived at Widemouth Bay on the Friday and frequented this place throughout our stay, we booked a table here for food one night, lovely place, staff are very friendly, definitely recommend coming here the food is great and staff can?t do enough for you ??

Went today after going last year. Had terrible customer service, asked to sit by a window and was told we couldn?t incase a larger party happened to come in. Didn?t feel welcome from the start. Waitress rushed away to welcome another customer in whilst in the middle of taking our drink order. A long wait for food. Very standard food which is greatly over priced for what it is. Was really disappointed as was supposed to be taking our 87 year old family friend for a treat. Wont be returning.

Stopped by here for a bite to eat on the way to Bude. Excellent food and drink, wonderful venue with fabulous view of the coast.Food & drinks: Excellent pub grub, plus vegetarian options, as well as a daily specials board.

Food is just average pub grub and the menu is very overpriced! Can?t comment on the accommodation as we only dropped in for dinner - ended up eating at home after what was a very disappointing visit here. The kids menu must be priced per chip as for £8 we got 3 chicken nuggets and about 5 chips!Definitely won?t be returning on our next visit to Bude.Food & drinks: Average and overpriced!

Came here to watch the sun set and have a lovely dinner. The blind was closed so we could not see it. The food was not locally sourced as claimed, all the mains seemed to be straight out of the frozen food section at Sansburys. Super expensive for the low quality of food.

Lovely venue, dog friendly idyllic location, and super friendly staff. We were disappointed with the food though, it looked good but not much taste sadly. But the restaurant was busy, so maybe we were having an off day, lol

We had a very disappointing lunch at Bay View yesterday. We were meeting family for a light lunch. The food was ok. Apart from one person (who was pleasant) the staff seemed generally uninterested and one was downright rude both to me and separately to another member of our group. Her attitude quite spoilt what was supposed to be a pleasant occasion

We had a wonderful dinner in the week. The lady that served us was incredibly friendly, helpful and generally brilliant! Very family and dog friendly restaurant meant we could all enjoy our evening and the glorious view.Also very allergen friendly - they even brought a product out for me to see the packaging to check my allergen. Brilliant service.

Great location when the weather is sunny or stormy. The decking has plenty of seating with sprawling views of the Cornish countryside and coast. Prices are average for most other places around this area. Staff seemed pleasant. Didn't try the food so can't comment. Plenty of parking and clean and modern decor.
