Prebooked for sunday lunch in August. 3 adults, 2 children. Food was served quickly and was boiling hot. Plates were overflowing and great veg options. Was pleased to see lamb as a choice too. Was all absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.

Sunday lunch Good choice of meats I had beef - succulent- husband lamb - equally as good . It was all homemade and it felt like going back to the 70s when you used to go to your grans for your Sunday lunch. Perfect

Fantastic Sunday Roast. I had the Vegetarian roast as we had not booked on a busy day I was offered vegetables and Yorkshire pudding with gravy all cooked to perfection. roast potatoes, peas, cabbage, swede, cauliflower, carrots and Brussel sprouts. The food was hot and so delicious. For Dessert I chose lemon meringue pie and cream. All food was home cooked and you could absolutely tell.

A dirty hovel served by a extremely rude Spanish man .Im amazed it hasn't been closed down. I only popped in for a beer. The pumps were not working,so I had a bottle of cider. Listening to his rants about the incompetence,useless,lazy, English and they rip you off,the English do. Miserable man.

Stumbled across this little beauty while on the hunt for some traditional pub grub to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, well what a find! Traditional pub, great atmosphere, friendly staff and an amazing Sunday dinner! Thanks Bencoolen will definitely pop in again when we visit Bude.

We have been coming to Bude for the last few yearsJuan and always visit The Bencoolen Inn. Juan and Lorraine are great hosts. If you are staying in Bude I highly recommend you try Juan?s paella. You have to book 24 hours in advance, but it well worth it. We have eaten most of the food from the menu and have always had the absolute best meal every time.

Excellent mixed grill one night. Excellent Sea Bass in garlic butter (off the specials board) tonight. Friendly atmosphere, friendly staff, and two very nice real ales as well . Definitely becoming one of our "go to" pubs in Bude

Been coming to Bude for years with family but never been in this pub, and now I understand why after our visit today. Pub is very very dated and could do with a good refurb, it didn?t smell very pleasant in there especially the toilets. Staff were sarcastic and very rude to us, watching our every move and then we overheard them talking about us. We were initially on the hunt for somewhere to eat but left here as we felt uncomfortable. Fortunately we found a much better, cleaner and dog friendly place a few miles away. Wouldn?t recommend going here if you?re with family & a dog. Steer clear.

This is a absolutely fantastic place I?ve just had my 3 evening and meal here with the wife I?ve never come across such a welcoming pub / restaurant I arrived on my mobility scooter the landlord made me very welcome and put a ramp on step to enter he didn?t mind the scooter inside despite being busy the food was exceptional for the price quality and quantity we didn?t bother going anywhere else tonight when we arrived I used my crutches to return to table but unfortunately tripped and fell , my fault as I?m without strength in legs . I can?t say a big enough thanks to the locals and staff who all immediately came and helped to make me safe and sat upright again it?s just too good but I have to share it to say a big thanks to all involved and hopefully see them again one day good luck to all

We were staying in Bude for a long weekend and this was our nearest pub, we called in for a few drinks. The staff and locals were very welcoming and as it was out of season there was plenty room and not too busy, although there is plenty of outside seating ready for the summer. Would definitely call in here for a drink and would try the food next time as it comes comes highly recommended.

We recently visited this pub with family from America, 6 meals were ordered three of them were sea bass, other meals included a chicken madras, chicken burger and lamb chops. All meals were served quickly and all were piping hot. At the end there were 6 empty plates, no better compliment than that. An added bonus was that the Bencoolen Wreckers performed an evening of sea shanties, they wee brilliant. I?m looking forward to trying the Sunday lunches as I?m told that they are excellent as well.

We visit the bencoolen inn every time we visit bude and always have the Sunday dinner which is one of the best we?ve ever had,cooked good and great portions.The real ale is served properly straight from the barrel.
