We used to go to the Napoleon fairly frequently in past years when we've stayed in Boscastle and never had any complaints. Since then it has had changes of management and staff. We visited 2 years ago and sadly weren't impressed. We are currently in Boscastle again and decided to give it another try last night.
I'm afraid things were no better. Whilst the food is very nice it is quite pricey, (£17.95 for pie, mash and veg, £8.25 for a pudding) and even with a specials board the choices are very limited.
We were informed we would have at least a 30 minute wait as there were a couple of large groups in.
The most surprising ( and annoying tbh) was being charged £7.50 for a 25ml glass of rosè wine!
Tonight we went elsewhere. Extensive menu, good portion size of delicious meal at cheaper prices and all 25ml glasses of wine - £4.25!!.
Sorry to say we won't be return customers in the future at the Napoleon.

Loved it. A treasure. Perfect traditional pub, steeped in history. Stayed in Boscastle for Easter week. Had dinner here three times and Sunday lunch. Really welcoming staff. Great food. Recommend the fish and chips, pie and mash, fish of the day and venison linguine. Entertainment most nights. Enjoyed the shanty singing and folk singers.

Fab little Cornish pub. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and went above and beyond, even when it got really busy with the local football team. Great choice on the menu, and the food we ordered was top notch.

Perfect roast dinner in a great pub! Stayed in Boscastle for a few nights and came here for drinks throughout our stay and booked in for a Sunday lunch! Jo the landlady was very accommodating and welcoming. We enjoyed the live music on Friday night too. This traditional Cornish pub is definitely worth a visit! Very dog friendly and a cosy fire, would defiantly recommend !
