This place meets my needs for something that is affordable in this area. It?s 5-6 minutes away from my place of visit. The prices are reasonable. The rooms are clean and comfortable for the price you pay. On-site free parking and the good food they serve at the pub are bonuses.

We booked a family quad room and indicated that there was an infant who needed a travel cot and the sofa bed would also be required.
Upon check in around 18:00 neither the sofa bed nor travel cot were set up. I told the staff who said they'd be able to get to it within an hour and a half. This was acceptable because we were going to have dinner.
Around 20:00 I went to check and it was still not set up. I again asked the staff to do this as I need to get my children to bed soon.
Around 20:30 just before we were going to go to the room I thought I'd check just in case. Still it was not done. Only after the third attempt did the staff actually go and set up the room. Overall this delay did affect their bedtime schedule which is totally unacceptable considering we gave all the right details at booking and it is a FAMILY QUAD room.
Also, only 2 sets of towels so in the morning I had to go and ask for more towels considering there were four of us in the quad room.
The restaurant was also very slow in service at both dinner and breakfast.
In short, I would avoid staying here again.

We booked here due to easy access to the motorway we just wanted a place to stay and did not expect much. We were delighted with the room, it was clean, nicely decorated and well equipped. The young lady at the desk was extremely helpful and had an iron/board delivered to our room while we ate in the restaurant (fab food). They couldn?t do more to help and we had an excellent stay. I would highly recommend staying here and am only sorry we didn?t get to look around the local area as we were on route elsewhere. It was so much better than just a place to stay and would make a lovely stop over for those with more time, so much better than Travel Inn/ Premier Inn, Ramada etc
Rooms: Clean, quiet well equipped room.
Nearby activities: Quiz on Thursdays
Safety: There are some rooms outside and some fully enclosed. It was clear that those with children were allocated fully enclosed rooms for extra security, but both options are available.
Walkability: Pub with fantastic food attached.
Food & drinks: The quality of food served was incredible.
Noteworthy details: Easily accessible for disabled guests.

Wow! What a find...this place is a terrific find in terms of both quality and cost. Best find in 2024..we're sure to be back...again and again to stop over when travelling north/south or vice versa. Lovely building inside and out, easy parking, super loos, great twin bedroom with exemplary bathroom all sparkly clean, decent beer and v good Malbec, good breakfast and above all friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Thanks so much!

This place was so welcoming and the staff were amazing - they even fed us delicious food just after the kitchen had closed as they knew we were only 20 minutes away and would not be able to get food.
We travel a lot and I can say we have not stayed at accommodation this welcoming in a long time. The room was fabulous - toilets in the bar area were spotless.Cannot fault this place.
Rooms: The room we stayed in was simply 5 star - recently refurbished I believe and to a very nice standard as was the bar area and toilets.
Food & drinks: The Chef made us a beef brisket sandwich with fries for our late arrival although the kitchen was officially closed.
It was 10/10 - absolutely delicious and a joy to have staff trest clients this way - very rare I feel these days.

All the staff were nice and very helpful. The bar area was nice, and the restaurant food was pretty good too.
The room itself was very nice but only thing was there was a terrible smell coming from the drains when we walked in. Once we had rinsed water down the shower and sink for a bit the pong went. Might be worth getting staff to check the room b4 giving out in case there is any bad surprises waiting for the nostrils.
Hence why I knocked it down a star.
Other than that I would definitely stay again in the future. Thanks to all the staff for making my stay a nice one.

Lovely place, but one of the walks in the corridor was flaky due to damp. The television was on the side wall. So, it was a bit difficult to watch. Not enough milk pods were provided, but it was sorted when requested more milk. No body lotion. It was good I always carry some. Lovely staff. Good food. Really would like to give 3.5 stars.
Rooms: Decent room. We booked a family room, but it was just a double with a sofa bed. So, it turned out to be small.
Safety: Safe
Food & drinks: Decent menu. We did not drink at the bar. Just had a bottle of wine with our dinner.

Really friendly staff - great place which unfortunately is hugely let down by the noise you can hear from surrounding rooms. I stay here frequently on business, as a lady on my own I feel safe in the environment but it really does depend on other cliental in adjoining rooms to my enjoyment of my stay. The walls are paper thin, you can hear people switching on light switches, coughing/snoring, arguing among other things... I'm not sure what can be done about rectifying this but really is a problem on some of my stays - most recently my last one with the people staying above me.

A bit of a shambles when being booked in but after 5/10 minutes everything was sorted. The staff were lovely and friendly, the hallway looked like it was under refurbishment so it was a bit of a mess. The room wasn't massive but adequate for just one night. There wasn't an iron, hairdryer or a proper wardrobe so make sure you take your own ( not wardrobe). The bathroom was a good size and was extremely clean. There were tea and coffee making facilities but no fridge and no bottled water, so if you needed a drink you either had to bring your own or buy it from the pub. The walls aren't very thick so we did have noisy neighbours and a pack of elephants in the room above who we think were rearranging the furniture around so take some ear plugs. There is free parking on site but the carpark isn't very big, but you can park outside on the road. We stayed for a meal in the restaurant and it was amazing. Would highly recommend here whether it's to stay overnight or just for a meal.

Four-night stay. The room was small by modern standards and lacked storage space for a stay of more than two days. Decor was dull and dark. Building construction was poor and look tired. Walls and floors paper thin. Two disturbed night?s sleep due to those above walking around on very noisy floor boards. Gardens and premises exterior need of some love and maintenance. Would only stay again if nothing else available. Quite obvious that whole venue needed investment. Over priced for what it is. Only had breakfast two of the four days which was ok. Staff polite. Parking ok. Not much else to like to be honest. Nice walk to Brereton Heath.

Cozy and clean room, comfortable bed. The room had everything you need. The staff is attentive and polite. The restaurant has great food - delicious, large portions and a reasonable price. Special attention to the building - an old building with a magical atmosphere. Without exaggeration, I can say - this is the best hotel I have stayed in. Of the comments, only one tiny one - it would be possible to make the lighting a little brighter.

Don?t stay here.
