Took car in as steering was heavy. Was told by Grangeside it was leaking fluid and needed a new steering rack for £1,000.00 but another garage said it was just a loose pipe and fixed it for £60.00.

Not very helpful. Asked for help greasing some grease fittings on my Jeep but was told I?d need to book in. It would take longer to stand in the office and book the job than it would to do the job. I know friendly local garages still exist but this isn?t one of them.
