The staff were extremely helpful fitting a new brake light bulb, which was rather awkward. I joined the Motoring Club and have my free MOT booked and the bulb was fitted for Free. Many thanks

Battery change modern car.
Rigby and ?his boss? both did an excellent job. Battery change on a car used to be easy now needs computer link to vehicle and a wait for new data to reboot. Glad I booked fitting service well worth it.

Called In Halfords today about 14.10 waiting at the check out, second in the queue and three or four behind me, no one on checkout, and no staff to be seen, just one guy fitting a wiper blade outside, surely a store of this size needs have more than one staff.

Terrible service, miserable over worked staff and a very disappointed 6 year old have left us thinking twice about whether to use Halford?s full stop going forward.
I would rate zero stars if I could for today?s awful experience, served by a manager too so no excuses!

Sadly a very unpleasant experience. A lady came to replace my headlight bulbs and brought a pair of them with her. She asked me to turn on my lights and then told me there was nothing wrong with them. I went to the front of my car and told her that she was looking at parking lights and it was the headlights that needed replacing. She replaced the passenger-side bulb easily enough but had difficulty with the driver's side light. She unscrewed 2 screws on the headlight assembly which didn't help. As she was trying to get the old bulb out, there was the sound of something clearly breaking. I hoped it was the bulb that was damaged and not something else. She tried to fit the new bulb, but couldn't and eventually went for help. She came out with another lady. This lady reached inside the car and pulled out a bulb which she said was clearly the old one: she said it had clearly been in there for a long time. The glass for that was still intact, so I don't know what had broken. She then got under the car and started banging on the surrounds underneath, eventually picking up the new bulb from the ground which had also clearly been dropped inside the car. She did not have gloves on and wiped the dust off with her fingers. I asked her to clean the bulb as you're not supposed to touch the glass with your fingers. She told me she knew that and would clean it, which she did by wiping it on her jersey, She tried to fit the new one in and told me that the connector was broken. I suggested that that was probably the sound of breaking that I heard earlier but the lady who had caused that sound told me that nothing had broken. I can't call someone a liar, but there was definitely the sound of something breaking. Eventually, the new bulb was installed and the second lady told me it seemed ok but to keep and eye on it in case it worked loose in which case I would need a new connector.
I am bitterly disappointed: Halfords charge a lot of money for replacing each bulb, and I expect that to be done with staff who know what they are doing: who know the difference between parking lights and headlights; who wear gloves when handling headlights and preferably don't drop any bulbs into the car, let alone drop 2 bulbs in total!
Incidentally, I had called the RAC the day before who would have changed both bulbs for me, but they didn't have that type of bulb in stock. The RAC man managed to extract both bulbs and replace them both in a matter of a few seconds, literally. Because I'm elderly and have trouble with the dexterity of my hands, he suggested that I did not replace the bulbs myself but should get someone else to do so. That's why I went to Halfords, hoping for some professionalism but sadly there was no such thing in evidence from either member of staff.

We had to deal with them a couple of times and both were not great experiences. Last Saturday me and my husband went in for a feee air conditioning check and came back with my miles counter not working anymore and the button for the air conditioning not even working. The lady was very polite but not happy with it at all
