I wasn?t going to write a review until the manager approached us in a confrontational manner! Starter was great! However our mains were not. I mentioned I did not like the pie to the waitress who collected our plates! We then had a confrontation from the manager which was not nice and made us feel uncomfortable! 1. I said the chicken pie was not to my taste the filling was bland and stodgy! Note to manager: the 14 other pies you served that day had no complaints however some people aren?t just honest and too polite, maybe they know your temperament 2. The waitress did NOT come and check on us throughout our meal, you may recall me coming to the bar to ask for more gravy! I stood there for five minutes whilst all your staff plus you were stood there talking and did not notice me or the other gentleman! This was the only interaction we had during our mains until our plates were cleared! Advice to anyone going here the food isn?t great it?s over priced and the staff are more interested in chatting than helping customers! I would go along the road to Bench as the service is amazing and nothing is too much trouble! Thanks for ruining my birthday!

Friendly staff. Steak Sandwich - not good - very tough.Reported this to the waitress to tell the chef.No feedback at all. Drinks are mega expensive. Two large glasses of white wine £20 ! Menu pretty expensive for a local pub.

I must stress this visit was not for an overnight stay, being it's just a short trip up the A500 from Stoke. We called in for lunch during the Nantwich food and drink festival. I had the double club Sandwich with a side of hand cut chips. My wife had Gammon steak, as did my father in law, and my mother in law had a burger which was a lovely thick quality beef patty. All meals were served with hand cut chips. The menu was varied and the staff were pleasant and polite. A nice choice of beers and wine. The surroundings are nice clean and comfortable.

Hotel lovely, old and quirky. Setting amazing and free parking. Staff pleasant if you can find some! Breakfast oversold and under delivered, when normally asked is your food ok and you reply x it?s taken care of? Not here the reply was yeah it?s a bit overdone! Check out how was your stay? Explained still charged us for breakfast and then said we will get it better next time you stay, told them that we wouldn?t no change or apology. I thought that service and customer experience were key, clearly not here and by the way the Cheshire Cat do a better room/dinner rate so we will try there next shame on you

Building lovely and Quirky, staff lovely when you could find them esp reception! Breakfast overcooked and overpriced, esp since there was two of us and it's freshly cooked? Bath lovely but couldn't climb in someone had removed the ladder.

Had a lovely stay here. Such a quaint pub and the guests rooms are really well presented, spotlessly clean and have lovely furnishings. Suzi and Dax are so welcoming, great hosts. The food is lovely and bar staff are great too. We?ll definitely be back. Love Heidi and Peter x

Room very tired, we stayed in room 15 looking out onto main Street. There was a lot of noise in early hours from passing revellers to shop deliveries. We really wish we had asked for another room. Breakfast is only served Friday and over weekend. The staff were friendly and helpful. Nantwich is lovely and we had a lovely few days out and about, but will not be staying at the crown again

Never have we been more embarrassed than today when we were chased out of the Crown pub by the bar man who in no uncertain term accused us of leaving without paying for our drinks!! We said we hadn?t had a bottle of wine as accused and that we had paid for our drinks as we had them did he realise his mistake??but no apology??nothing!! he just went back into the Crown leaving us standing there open mouthed, not quite believing that anyone in that position could be so rude. We have visit the crown and eaten many times in their restaurant before always with positive results. However today we had a dreadful experience. We sat in the bar area for a drink when the young man opened the window as wide as he could when we asked why as the pub in general was quite cool he replied ?I?m boiled behind the bar? surely it?s how the customers are and not how the staff are!!! When the table next to us also complained about how cold it was he did close the window. Very poor customer relations

We stayed here for a family event for 2 days. The hotel staff were most welcoming and very considerate, polite and always helpful. The room was very clean and cosy and the bed very comfortable. The food was very good at both functions and well served. The breakfast menu had a good choice and the quality of food was delicious. Parking was adjacent to the rear of the hotel, and is free for staying guests. We would thoroughly recommend The Crown.

The Crown hosted a joint 50th party for us in their fabulous ballroom as well as a lunch the following day. The food was excellent and the staff were absolutely brilliant both before and during the event and were extremely helpful throughout

The atmosphere and decor is great and it is a cosy place for a drink. However the beer prices have gone through the roof recently (prices at all pubs have gone up) but here they have gone above and beyond a reasonable amount. £4.40 will get you a Beck's which is above average but not unreasonable but most beers have seen some crazy increases. Estrella which is £5.30 (last Summer it was about £4.70 a pint). £6.50 a Leffe and £6.20 an Erdinger is well above reasonable even in the current climate. You don't pay those prices in Manchester!

Absolutely fantastic food. Highly recommend. Roast dinner was gorgeous. The Staff customer service brilliant. So polite and helpful. We look forward to bringing more family next time. Thank you to the gentleman I think maybe manager who stopped the traffic so my disabled Dad could cross the road, your kindness was very much appreciated.
