Doesn't exist anymore....the New version while bigger isn't much good ...decor inside is cheap and nasty ..and this Saturday when the battle of Nantwich was on ...the toilets were filthy.

Went to the new Costa on the square in Nantwich but never again. Some Staff behind serving were more interested using their phones than reacting to the customers.
Toilets were blocked and when reporting it, you felt that they were totally disinterested.
The staff from the old shop were efficient, kept on top of everything and interacted with the customer. That's the kind of service that I expect FROM THE COST OF COSTA COFFEE!

The staff are lovely and very hardworking, but that's where the positives end for the new store. Day 3 for them and it's a Trainwreck!
The old store was charismatic, clean and full of charm. The new store is disgustingly filthy, noisy and brighter than the sun! No more low lighting and cosy sofa seats...think minimalist barn with a million spotlights.
The toilets were covered in urine and diarrhea, one blocked completely. Dogs are now allowed in and although we love dogs, we watched in horror as 3 separate dogs over a half hour period, jumped up and licked the pre-packed cakes by the till. I know it was just the packets but we found it unpleasant. The staff member on the till saw at least once but said nothing and left the cakes on display. As I say, the staff are lovely and work really hard but that was unacceptable. They've been dealt an impossible task with this new store.
All in all, if you are looking for a road-side diner in a town centre, this is the place for you. If you want a clean and comfortable, relaxing coffee shop...go a few doors down.
We will miss the old Costa beside the church on the quaint cobbled street.

Reviewing the new place in the square. All the charm of a 1970s works canteen. Too big, very bright (why ?)
Austere, no sumptuous sofas, lots of hard surfaces.
I had a bacon roll which was ok. Packed in plastic (like most of the food here) then microwaved on a plate. Two rashers inside, unlike the screen poster which must have about eight ?
Bacon roll £4:19 which is pricey for what I got. Coffee reasonable. A big cup for a flat white, the only size for this (as normal) being small (!).
Won't bother again unless I have to. Long live the independent cafés.

What happened to te wonderful discovery of the copper ceiling! Replaced with a corporate looking ceiling, disappointing as Costa could lost a part of Nantwich history and quirkiness. Quality of coffee average , did not eat, unlikely return (food read coffee)

It's a coffee shop, selling vastly inflated coffee. Just like all their competitors.
And it's owned by Coco-Cola.
Vegetarian options: It's not a butcher
Parking: In the middle of town.

The couple in front of me had a large dog which was allowed/encouraged to put his paws & face on the counter where food & drink is served & lap his doggie chino - I don't blame the dog of course but oh dear so unhygienic!!! Yuk!
Dietary restrictions: Only one savoury vegan option available but Oatmilk Coffee lovely!

I bought coffee this morning at 10:30 on the 14.7.24 and the barista was awful. He completely ignored my order and served about 5 people behind me. The people in the queue felt sorry for me and were asking why I wasn?t being served and eventually I was served with a horrible look on his face. As a person of colour that hurt and I could feel that I was not accepted in that shop
