Lovely pub with a huge outdoor seating area too. Varied menu. We had a turkey sandwich and a cajun chicken ciabatta. Both were really fresh with slaw and fries/crisps. Good service and value for money. Very quiet when we visited.

Not stayed here but the restaurant and bar are great, lovely atmosphere, very good food and tasty, thoughtful vegan options.
Update (05/08/2025): New chef in the last couple of months killed our love for this place unfortunately. Food has gone downhill significantly; portion size, temperature, taste and quality and the vegan options have all been reduced. Unlikely to return again. Shame.

We had a delicious Sunday carvery today at The Bickerton Poacher, plenty of choices of meat and vegetables. The staff were very friendly and welcoming particularly Ella our Server and Tom and Noah on the carvery.

What a fabulous pub, great service, super staff and the food is delicious!! Atmosphere is lovely, welcoming and locals were friendly.
Great outdoor seating areas too. Facilities were clean. We used the camping area, pitches were level with EHU and water close to pitches. Super!!!

Came here again for a family camping trip after coming last year for the first time. Quiet camping grounds, child friendly and tidy. Shower area could be better with an extra sink however it is kept clean. P

This is our second time staying at the Bickerton Poacher on the campsite. The location is perfect, great walks all around. The campsite is also good, good facilities and really close to the pub. The pub has great atmosphere and the food is lovely. Hats off to the new owners you have an amazing place.

Went for a carvery it was disgusting the service atrocious the roast potatoes were that like bullets Yorkshire pudding just crumbled no veg or mash potatoes out stood waiting ages and nothing came out so left without eating. Wanted to speak to the management but none around place was run by young kids .Definitely not be returning.

Over priced 'trashy' food. Beer garden infested with wasps. Staff did nothing to prevent this. Will never go back there.

Stayed overnight in the caravan park and had dinner in the restaurant. Caravan park isn?t their main business and seemed like an afterthought: dirty showers and toilets, laundry facilities filled with old clothes and aprons, and dirty dishes laying around in the kitchen. However, the staff was lovely and dinner was nice.

Great location. Fabulous home cooked food. Frendly nice staff. The room was clean and we had a great sleep and nice overnight stay for an event we was attending. Our room had stairs to an attic room giving our daughter her own room which she liked.

Looked very inviting inside.we ordered salt and pepper ribs to start. They came in a tin bowl with no wipe for your hands. In my experience you would receive a bowl of warm water with lemon in to cleanse your hands after eating finger food. I was offered serviettes???
The ribs were meatless and deep fried, so very greasy? With a few burnt onions. No sign of a fresh chilli or salt and pepper seasoning. Totally sub standard and poor.
I ordered a 10oz rib eye with pepper sauce and .my friend ordered a 4 Oz steak with oriental noodles.
His steak was actually bigger than mine? Bearing in mind this was £31 for just my steak? It was a slice of steak thin and hard as a rock. The pepper sauce was gravy with green peppercorns in it? Not creamy and no hint of a chiefs hand in it's making this poor thing was served with a small half of tomato and a very limp mushroom. Chips were ok.
My friends came in a bowl and the waiter who served it had his fingers in the bowl to carry it?.??? Not very hygienic?
On asking the waiter if he could see the problem with the size of my steak he just shrugged his shoulders at me!?
At this point we just got up, paid for the greasy starters and left.
Totally would not recommend this place.
They require a qualified chief and some professional staff training.

We stayed at Peckforton Castle but met up with friends at Bickerton Poacher for a drink and the staff was really friendly having a chat with us, we stayed for about 4 hours and really enjoyed our visit.
