This post office is awful, slow, ineffective and doddery staff. Needs some decent management.

WHSmith seems to be a tradition in the British town centre, most towns have them and this location on Mill St, Macclesfield seemed to match that offering, and not much more.It features a Post Office which is becoming more and more common with WHSmith now, I have reviewed the Post Office separately but there were multiple issues with the speed of service and lack of self-service postage machines. The service in the main store was good however, the staff member who served me at the till seemed friendly and ensured quick and efficient service, there was a nice selection of newspapers, stationary and National Lottery products including scratchcards. The store was clean and a fairly decent size3* - A useful WHSmith location, offering what you'd expect and not too much more. Certainly OK.

The manager who calls herself Becky is totally Unprofessional-she constantly bad mouths her employer & other customers in store
I made formal complaint about an employee consistently throwing and breaking parcels-Becky was at this point being made redundant so she was encouraging me to make a complaint as she agreed the employee was damaging packages. She advised she had also made several complaints about the employee herself
Becky was then told she was keeping her job-I again made a formal complaint via phone as 11 packages got smashed in one day & her conduct towards me was extremely rude -she hung up saying it ?wasn?t her problem? She then lied and said I was abusive toward her-I had my 9 year old son & partner with me at the time so it?s nonsense. The packages all had to be replaced (one off pieces of art) at my own expense and time and it cost my business just over £3k
Because I raised a formal complaint against her and her colleague she has ?barred me for life?
As a small business this is so damaging the staff don?t seem to care about the damage they cause to Peoples artwork and stock.
I ended up having to take them to court which was successful.
I now regularly use the post office at Tytherington-the manager is extremely helpful and I am very happy with their service and my items no longer get damaged

There's a good reason why WHSmith is consistently voted as offering the worst service on the high street.Shocking.
