We got married at the Tytherington club earlier this month. We can honestly say the staff and venue was amazing. There was a few very last min changes and the events team handled it and the day was perfect. All my guest said how great the day was and the food was amazing too.We stayed in the hotel in a family room they were good size rooms with all the amenities you need apart from a mini bar. The breakfast was good however they just need to be more on top of replenishing it at busy times however all in all we would certainly Recommend it to anyone.Rooms: Clean, good size and modern.Food & drinks: Good food just need to keep on top of replenishing the breakfast buffet at busy times.

Playing 18 holes at the weekend is almost impossible unless you are prepared to play for 5 or 6 hours. Course being booked up with guests with no checks on their standards so it's inevitable you will get stuck behind a series of 4 balls who hack the ball around slowly and destroy the course. Club are only focused on maximising short term revenue with no concern for the member experience. Been the same for entirety of the summer. Last year it was easy to get out and play at a nice pace. If there's heavy rain in the morning they will keep the course closed all day. Whilst other nearby clubs will re-open. Hydro pool closed for over 6 weeks. You could build a new one from scratch in that time. Communication from management absolutely terrible because they know it's appalling how long it has taken. Spa area over-run with hotel guests in afternoons at the weekend. White towels just discarded everywhere and completely cheapening the experience as they'll not be taken away for several hours. Cleaning standards in the pool side changing rooms are poor. Standing water, fluff and filth all over. No point being a member as you're taken for granted.

The room was lovely - comfy, modern and clean. The facilities are great, especially the gym. The only down side was the pool/spa area - the door to the spa didn?t close so you could hear the pool noise really loudly. You also need £1 for the lockers, which felt unnecessary in a hotel. Loads of parking. We didn?t eat here and went to Hickories instead given the recent reviews around the food.

I chose Tytherington for my regular annual 2 day golf break for 36 people based on a recommendation from my Golfbreaks advisor. We were not disappointed. The golf course is a true test of golf for all abilities. I would advise you to book a buggy though as there are some lengthy walks between some greens and tees. The hotel and spa facilities were spotlessly clean. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfy, and the decor was modern. All of the staff were friendly, attentive and made us feel like valued visitors. Service at our evening meal was excellent, the food was well presented, well cooked and the choices available meant that everyone enjoyed their meals. The golf team sorted everything out for us, making my life a lot easier than it has been at some other venues we have visited previously. All of my group enjoyed the break, even though we were only able to play 9 holes on Day 2 due to the weather - the only thing that none of us can control. I would recommend this venue to any golf trip organiser who is looking for a great venue for their event.

I had been here previously for a spa day and it was fantastic, so was looking forward to visiting again. We booked the overnight indulgence spa break as a treat, and for the price we paid, we had expected so much more. The were plenty of good points, but unfortunately overshadowed by the bad. The room was lovely and comfortable, and the spa facilities were great, bit disappointed that the hydrotherapy pool was closed but we had been informed of this earlier, with a bottle wine comped. The treatments were also great, bar the manicure that my friend had, seemed like a very rushed job, sadly, didn't look nice at all. Our main issue was the food. A sparkling afternoon tea was part of our package, probably the worst afternoon tea I have had. It was stingy and tasted stale. The sparkling part was one very small glass of bubbles, again for the price we paid... Genuinely seemed as though the 'chef' had scraped together leftovers from the kitchen and cut them into tiny pieces to pass it off as an afternoon tea. Not impressed at all. The evening meal was also included. The restaurant/bar is dire (travel lodge dining springs to mind), food was dismal and is staffed by teenagers with no customer service skills whatsoever. Empty tables sat uncleared, somewhat unsightly. The rest of the hotel is beautiful, so I can't understand why the restaurant/bar is left as dire as it is. More atmosphere in a graveyard. We had intended on having a few drinks in the bar after dinner but didn't bother and went to bed. Again, the rooms are lovely. Breakfast was OK, coffee machine was broken. Hot selection needed replenishing. Fix the food, train the staff.

This place gets worse every time we meet here. We use the Pulse Bar regularly to meet as a ladies book club. The service has always been terrible. It?s new young staff every time and they are nothing short of clueless. Last nights farce began just trying to book a table for 5 of us to eat. Somehow we ended up with a booking for the Spa, and got asked what treatments we wanted! Once that had been corrected, and we?d also explained that no, we are not a group of 16 (?) we got seated. All 5 of us ordered pizzas. All ordered at the same time, just paid for individually. 3 came out. Then we waited. 10 minutes later I enquired about the other 2, and promptly got put back in my box by the lady with the attitude who was making the pizzas. Shouting across the bar to me that she can only do 2 at a time and the others were coming. I have no issue if this were the case but people who had ordered after us were getting their pizzas! Ours had gone awol somewhere. 10 minutes later our 4th pizza came. I then sat and waited another 10 minutes for the 5th and final pizza. All the while other peoples food was coming out. By the time mine arrived, 30 minutes after our first pizzas came, everyone else had finished eating theirs. It?s not just the service, it?s the attitude of the staff. This place need a damn good shake up, especially when you consider the price of the food and drinks. It?s not cheap. We are looking to meet elsewhere in future.

A return for us the first weekend September following a night out with friends. Check in was fine (apart from it being a ?cashless property?, I hate the customer not having the choice and it really puts me off when I get faced with that. But the room was brilliant as always, lovely wet room, huge comfy bed and nice tea/coffee/ biscuits and also two complimentary bottles of water - nice touches. Sadly this stay was overshadowed a little by two things. 1- who ever the chap was on reception on Friday 1/9 evening, he needs training! We arrived back late after an evening in Prestbury with friends and our friend simply asked ?excuse me, are we able to get a drink still please??. The night staff member didn?t even raise his hand and just replied ?it?s 11:15 NO?. Shocking and very rude, good job I hadn?t been drinking or I might have made a scene at that rude and terribly impolite reply. Second one and the real low mark comes from breakfast the next morning. It wasn?t busy but we waited 10 minutes to be seated as the tables were not getting cleaned. Then when we did, no cups for the coffee machine, no plates to use at the buffet at no hot food except scrambled egg! We waited a further 10 minutes then I said we should walk and demand a refund for the breakfasts we had pre paid for, so we did. No battle to be fair, refunded immediately, just a real shame as we love the hotel but the previous visit wasn?t great at breakfast then this one sealed it. Stay, but go elsewhere for breakfast would be my advice.

We stayed for one night as a last minute booking and it was a lovely stay. We checked in late, but the guys on reception were welcoming and friendly. The hotel is sparkling clean and looks modern in all areas. Our room was large with a lovely design and nice touches with Elemis toiletries, warm towel rail, aircon already set to cool on the hottest day of the year, decent tea and coffee and the room layout was really nice. The breakfast was buffet style but good quality hot and cold offering. Overall an excellent stay with lovely surroundings and we would recommend. Thanks for having us.

The rooms were ok but there was a loud noise coming from the aircon which kept us awake all night. We decided to have our evening meal in the adult only restaurant (there were kids in there) I had to go to the bar to ask for the menus then when no waiter materialised I had to go back to the bar to order our food and wine?we ordered a £28 bottle of South African wine and it was just plonked on the table with 2 glasses ( they didn?t open it and pour any into the glass !!!!!and when the food arrived we had to pay straight away before even tasting it?I just couldn?t believe it ?The breakfast was a complete farce. The chef hadn?t turned up so there was no hot food and the coffee machine wasn?t working and I was told to go in the next room to get some??the gym was great but there was no spa which we had paid for so I Do Not recommend this hotel at all

Beautiful hotel, and room stayed for one night for airport transfer. Friday the the 11th blonde female on reception wasn?t all too friendly Went to order food in the family bar so we could sit outside, was told the food service had stopped due to it being busy. Lovely outside seating area. Room was lovely!

Very welcoming and experience, great location, rooms and very impressive gym and spa facilities. I'm giving a 5 star but would like to comment that the breakfast service requires an improvement. Staff very quiet, Coffee machine kept requiring milk & water topped up, hot food re fills were slow, guests seemed unaware of table seating and e.g 2 people would sit on a table larger for their requirements. There is clearly some training needed to better the breakfast experience sorry.

Good challenging golf course, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. BUT, we (3 couples) were on a stay and play golf break and the food we were served on the first of our two nights was absolutely shocking. Battered rings that were discribed as calamari that you couldn't bite through, steak pie with crust so hard you could use them as bricks and a "mush" veg curry that was just slop! We are out on our second night. We contacted the manager on the morning after this disaster, six days later the member of staff responsible for taking our booking sent us what can only be described as a "fob off" email. We followed this up with a response to her points, copying in the manager (again) and their line manager (Reg. Dir). To date, another four days on, and 11 days since the incident NO ONE has taken any responsibility for the awful food, maybe they are too busy being fully booked and as such can afford to lose customers.Despite giving them every chance to respond they choose not to!Food & drinks: Over priced drinks, over cooked, awful food

The rooms were really clean and plenty of towels on the bathroom.my friends and myself had the beef Chianti for the main meal and it was really nice .but when we asked if we could have some bread to soak all the gravy .the waiter said we would have to buy a slice .and the price was £2.50 for two slices .so at that price we left it .also in the bar a pint of Guinness cost £6.30 so if going you will need deep pockets .

Hotel and surroundings excellent, public areas spot on bedrooms very comfortable with massive king size bed and large bathroom with walk in shower, unfortunately what let this hotel down a bit was inexperienced staff on bars and in the resturants most were trying to do there best but some staff seemed disinterested there didn't seem be any senior staff about to take control when busy as it was very busy when we stayed , I think the problem was down to the training side of things as some of the younger staff struggled with the service to the customer side of things. But to be honest we will come back to this hotel as it was top quality as far as comfort, good food great surroundings great view of the golf course, and ok staff a bit inexperienced at times but we will as I've already said stay here again without doubt.

We arrived at the hotel, the receptionist wasn't personal or cheery, she just took our details and told us where the room was and sent us on our way.The room was lovely, everything we needed for a comfortable one night stay, room was immaculately clean and had shampoo and conditioner to use in the shower and hand wash and lotion to use next to the sink. Lovely fluffy white towels and no complaints. We went to use the spa, a lovely guy (possibly manager? Shaved head, always smiling and helpful) Was behind reception and told us which way to go, we asked about booking for an evening meal and he said no need to book and he advised us to use the club restaurant instead of pulse bar if we wanted a child free restaurant. We went to use the spa, lovely clean changing rooms, need £1 for the lockers, the pool had a lovely area for children with floats if you have kids and 2 swimming lanes at the other side. Go through some glass doors to find sauna, steam room, ice room and the biggest jacuzzi I have ever seen. Perfect place to relax and unwind, lovely and clean. Can't fault the pool and spa at all. After going to the spa my husband went to the gym, he loves a good gym and he was impressed with the equipment and said it was up there with some of the best he has been in so another big tick!!After going back to the room and getting ready we went out to the club restaurant as recommended. The food menu was pretty much as I expected for a hotel price wise. I got a wild mushroom risotto (my fave dish) and my husband got a burger. The restaurant isn't table service so Husband went up to the bar to order. £16.95 each for our meals and then 2 drinks came to £52. I had a glass of wine and my husband had a pint of grolsch. I was shocked at 2 drinks costing £16 so I went and double checked at the bar to find a glass of wine costs £11.10!!!When the food came my husband's burger looked amazing and he really enjoyed it however my risotto was described as selection of wild mushrooms with tarragon cooked in a white wine risotto finished with hard cheese. The risotto was under cooked and the rice hard in places, no selection of wild mushrooms just a handful of button mushrooms, very oily and no hard cheese at all. Nobody came and asked if our meals were ok and I was hungry so just ate it and decided not to order dessert to risk being disappointed again. On the way back from the gym my husband had asked reception for more milk for my coffee for in the morning and the receptionist said she would get some sent, none had arrived before we left for our meal so we went back to reception to ask on our way to the room to ask and she said she would send someone with some. Again this never arrived!Back to the room to relax, it sounded like a baby elephant upstairs with a child running around but luckily the child fell asleep, people going back to their rooms later were not quiet, wishing everyone good night as loud as they could in the corridor. Maybe some please be quiet and considerate signs in the corridors may help to remind people to be more respectful and also consider putting children on the ground floor so they aren't running around upstairs above someone else's room!In the morning we got up and my husband went to reception to ask for milk (3rd time lucky) within 5 mins a lovely lady from housekeeping knocked on the door with milk , coffee and sugar. On our way to check out the receptionist asked if we were checking out but didn't ask if everything had been ok, this was a different receptionist to check in but still no smile or friendliness. To summarise.....lovely hotel, amazing spa, overpriced drinks, food not upto standard. No complaints with the hotel itself, maybe just some extra people skills training for receptionists, reconsider the cost of a glass of wine and work on some better food leaving the kitchen. Thanks for the comfortable clean room!
