My car key fob started to become intermittent in locking and unlocking the car so I logically assumed it needed a new battery. I went to this store and asked that they fit a new battery. They told me there would be a charge but when I looked at the receipt I was charged £7.00!!! However, when I arrived back home, the key fob did not work so I immediately drove back to the store to see the same sales assistant. He could not get the battery to stay in the key fob. I then had to drive elsewhere and I was told that the connectors around the battery had been damaged. After submitting a complaint and asking for a refund of the £7.00 the sales assistant made contact with me. He blamed the key fob saying that as the fault was intermittent it must be the key fob and not the battery. I made a second complaint over his attitude and I am still waiting a response from the manager 5 days later and a refund for the job they failed to complete. This has severely damaged my opinion of this chain and I will shop elsewhere in the future.

Well not to happy! I asked for a price of a headlight bulb for my Peugeot Partner tepee and was told approx £13 for the bulb and £10 fitting charge! Agreed and guy took the old bulb out and said may as well do the other bulb as well as they come as a pair! Did so and all "done and dusted" in under 5 mins and changed another £10 fitting charge on top of the first £10 charge. The second bulb wasn't necessary and was a spare really, and I didn't ask for it to be fitted and not told that I would be charged! Please get it in writing if you need a new bulb.

Not good promised bike for Wednesday, rang 3 time on weds they said they would get back to me, went down to the shop because of no replay at the shop they said they should of not said weds not in till sat then the pigs they sold me would not fit told me i had picked the wrong ones i informed him your staff had picked them not me so that was refunded so not the best experience when you have a 8year old with you expecting his birthday bike .

Ordered again, it did not get better. I ordered a ryobi impact gun with a 4ah battery, after unpacking it it's got a 2ah battery. It just doesn't get better.

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID ?.
Absolutely dreadful service - kept me waiting 20 minutes only to be told by a young man that the problem with the bike was beyond him and his manager was off!Then, I believe the Macclesfield store manager came over and told him off and said he had to fill in form to check the bike over - This manager was probably the most rude and obnoxious man I have ever met as he then went on to tell me it wouldn?t be possible to even look at the bike until August 9th!!I phoned your customer service to complain but have heard nothing back - needless to say I will never buy or visit Halfords Macclesfield again. We have always bought our bikes from you and would have at least expected a respectful reception when we booked the bike in. The store manager is unemployable if he thinks he can treat customers in this way!!

Good staff and attended to well when just turning up for headlight bulb to be changed at reasonable cost--down side was that 10 point safetey check never received !!

Shop is good as it ever was. The emailed receipt is a PIA - 4 sheets, needing to split 2 out just for my accounts. If they want to be smart, put the invoice as an attachment or at least have all the details on the first page of the email.

If you are a car enthusiast, don't let these people dampen your enthusiasm with their prejudice, abrupt and rude behaviour. There are so many other options for great deals online I don't use this store unless in a hurry - even then there are many other Halfords and tool stores elsewhere so they won't be having a monopoly over where I can get my tools from anytime soon!
