Today I visited with 3 friends, we all had such a lovely time. The food was exceptional and service excellent. We ate from their festive menu, had two courses each, both so tasty!!
Highly recommend this wonderful pub.

First visit - we had a simple lunch which was done very well. The Asian crispy beef salad was excellent. Friendly and efficient service - nice setting / lovely area.

Only 2 vegetarian choices on the menu. Vegan burger or risotto. I went for the risotto which was like a plate of rice pudding. The rice was way over cooked and not like risotto at all. Very noisy so not a place for a quiet meal

After a family Boxing Day walk we finished off at The Dog. The pub was very busy with a great atmosphere and the staff attentive. We were seated and served quickly and the food was beautiful, unfortunately there was a slight issue with one of the dishes but this was not a problem as the staff soon resolved it. An excellent country pub and definitely worth a visit.

What an absolute hidden gem. As country pubs go this could be the best! We arrived on a Sunday at about 5pm 30 minutes before our booking, this was no issue to the lovely young lady on the desk at entrance. A few tables were switched around and we were seated in a lovely cosy area of the pub. Drinks order was taken by our lovely waiter and the menu was run through eg starters soup of the day and Sunday roast options. We all had a starter main and dessert. The starters were all outstanding great presentation and really tasty and enjoyable. But without a doubt the show stopper at this pub is their Sunday roast, i would honestly say this is the BEST Sunday pub lunch in Manchester/Cheshire. Please please visit this place!!

I had the vegetarian nut roast. Waited ages which was understandable as it was busy but when my food arrived it was so disappointing. The meat eaters had plates piled high but I had next to nothing, a slice of nut roast, two potatoes, a spoonful of carrot mash and a spoonful of mixed green veg. There was mash which I didn't touch as it looked so unappetising. My granddaughter had far more on her Child's portion. I'd eaten all mine before the rest had really got going. I left hungry and went home to get some more food. I won't be going back.

Had many lovely meals at The Dog, but hadn?t visited for a few years until today. Well, my roast was just the best ever, even more delicious than I remember. Absolutely cooked to perfection & beautifully presented. Their roasts are by far the best around here imo. Very nice waitresses looking after us too. My only negative was a young man, dressed in a checked suit, leaned right over me, whilst I was eating, to retrieve an empty glass. He should have gone around the back of me, if he felt it necessary to take my glass whilst I was eating.

A group of us went for Sunday lunch. The pub was busy with a great feel. We all had a variation on the traditional Sunday dinner; No complaints from any of us. The food, service and drinks were excellent. Fantastic, give it a try.

Fantastic experience from start to finish , staff amazingly polite and very help full , food was to die for , definitely worth a try , you are met at the door by friendly warm staff and shown to your table , service was second to non. Chicken wings weren't cooked properly and soft . The crispy batter on a chicken wing just didn't work so that was crispy but the chicken soft inside which was very off putting. The steak then came out raw inside so i had to send back and wait another 15 mins for another. It is so frustrating when a chef can't cook a steak. It's so simple. And they charge £32.

4 of us had Sunday lunch 2had roast Beef and the other 2 Turkey, very good, the only down side is there was no cranberry sauce, when I asked for some there reply was sorry we have none also said no mint sauce either. Surely it no problem to send out a member of staff to the Local shop to get

Birthday lunch for Mum?s 93rd.Location, decor very picturesque and exceptionally clean ( loved the Ladies). Easily accessible too.Food delicious, team were warm and welcoming, honestly service was wonderful- helpful, patient and kind despite it being a busy Sat afternoon. My husband and I are regulars of many years standing and LOVE The Dog! Why go anywhere else when there's always a glass of chilled Champagne waiting for you? The ambience in both the bar and restaurant areas is lovely and, whilst it can get extremely busy at times, that is just indicative of the popularity of this gorgeous place!The staff are welcoming and friendly, not pushy per se but always there if you need them; a special mention for the Bar Manager Charlie who always has a smile for his customers, a knowledge of his bar inventory and just enough conversation to make you feel "known". Thank you to all! We love The Dog!

I have been going to The Dog regularly since 2018! I LOVE this pub! I?ve been with some many different friends and family, but more often than not, it is me and my Mum who frequent! I tend to always get the Sunday dinner burrito .. My Mun gets the traditional roast beef dinner! Tonight we both got ?soup of the day? which was a lovely creamy potato soup! Was absolutely delicious! Lots of wine to accompany the meal of course! Can?t comment on the rooms, as never stayed! But this by far my favourite country pub and Sunday dinner around! :)
