Great little cafe that was a perfect pit stop whilst I was out cycling

Travelling to Jodrell Bank, we decided to stop at a local cafe just before we got to our destination. We arrived at 9.30am and the cafe wasn't open. The sign on the door said 9.30am opening. No problem, sometimes people are running a few minutes late. There was a lady in the shop who noted us. About 9.35am the lady came to the door, flung it open and rudely shouted "I'm not ready, I'll be ten minutes". We stood there shocked (in the pouring rain) and then walked off. Could the lady not have said "Good Morning, I'm running a few minutes behind, come in and take a seat , I'll be ten minutes".

Stopped by on our cycle route around Goostrey.
Very friendly service.
I had a very tasty sausage barm, and my friend had eggs on toast that he enjoyed.
Drinks with our food were coffee and tea. Both were very good.
There is plenty of seating inside and a few outside, so you can keep an eye on your bike.
The cakes looked really good for our next visit.
Prices were very reasonable.

I visited, like so many others, on a cycle ride. Perfect location. Delightful staff, great food and reasonably priced.
I had the welsh rarebit with very fresh salad. Recommended.

My first ever review on here ! I don?t normally write reviews but this little gem of a place needs a mention! Lovely warm welcome by the owner and her small team, met with proper coffee and a superb lunch - I had Welsh rarebit and my friend had the poached eggs on toast - both done to perfection! I don?t even like coleslaw, but decided to try it after my friend said how nice it is - it didn?t disappoint, you can tell it?s all freshly made by the big give away of them making everything in front of you fresh to order. We took home some scones and tray bakes for our families- they went down an absolute treat! Apologies for the gushing first post, but when you find somewhere that?s as welcoming, and great food, you want to support them, especially with it being an independent business.

I regularly call in at Pastimes of Goostrey for some lunch when out riding my bike. There is always a warm welcome when I arrive and the atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful. The food is always excellent and I just love the Sultana and Ginger Flapjack. Coffee is great too. I highly recommend you call in if you are passing by.

Very poor quality. It"s obviously popular with locals. But if you are looking good quality well prepared food look elsewhere. It's just cheap bread, big tubs of Costco or similar coleslaw, literally spooned out on the counter in full view. What tasted like tubs bought tuna mix. Dried salad. The cakes are even worse, dried up slabs, probably cooked before Xmas. Went there after a visit to Jodrell, somewhere close by. The waitress was really pleasant but just my honest opinion to help others. We did not complain at time as with our son and we just wanted to get it over and done with and chalk it up to making a bad choice.
