Don't bother staying here if you're working in the area. Every website that the George advertises on states bed & breakfast. The breakfast is only available from 9am, so that rules out most people who have to get to work.The pub is extremely noisy and can be heard right through the floorboards. There is no wifi code offered in the rooms, so you have to go down to the bar to get this. Also found putting in my car registration on the bar tablets to be very off putting as all the local punters are perched by the bar therefore one must virtually move them out of the way.The curtains aren't blackout so the light streams through them in the morning and there is no mention of key deposits when you leave. I presume they think everyone can't surely use their 'hotel' for work purposes.All in all a quite dismal display.At £95 a night, just offering a bed is quite atrocious!

Great pub and even better food. Friendly, helpful owner and staff. Great atmosphere. We stayed 2 nights as we were attending BSB at Oulton Park so it was ideal as a base for us. Would definitely return

Our second visit here to Eat out. As always a warm welcome with a lovely meal at a reasonable price . Decent size portions too. Can highly recommend.

We enjoyed a lovely overnight stay in this traditional pub with guestrooms above. The pub itself is large with plenty of informal bar dining areas as well as a more formal table service section. We ordered a pizza to share and although it wasn't outstanding, it was very tasty and the right price point. The breakfast the next morning was also good. The sausage was really tasty and good quality. We stayed in room 1 which was a very small double with an ensuite. Decent shower. I knocked a star off the room as I discovered the room didn't have a hairdryer as advertised and I only discovered this after I had got out of the shower. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and I'm sure they would have got one for me if I had noticed earlier but I didn't want to have to get dressed and go downstairs wet. We would definitely stay again.

Great food, atmosphere good. Friendly. Band rather loud on weekends not that I am too old but young children may find it a bit much.

We had a great stay here for 4 days. It was our introduction to living in the UK and a great one.Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely room, dog friendly, overall a great time.Rooms: Very nice comfy room, peaceful sleeps despite being on the Main StreetSafety: In a nice quiet area but safety standards are still abided by.Food & drinks: Food was lovely, well fed every day
